my newest love... Keurig!!!

M was confused when I asked for a coffee maker for my birthday as we have a rule that he doesn't buy me practical presents... This of course, was not particularly practical considering the pricetag... it was definitely a luxury item. So he finally found it and I am now the very proud and caffeinated owner of a Keurig Platinum B70... COFFEE MAKER!!!!

It only makes 1 cup at a time, but it makes perfect coffee, with no mess and no measuring. I'm totally thrilled with it. And I've been drinking a LOT of coffee and tea since it entered my life on Sunday!!

Anyone else have a Keurig?

I''ve been wanting something like this!!!!! BUT, I''m a total and complete coffee snob - I''ll admit it - My nose is high up in the air! I see now that I can use MY OWN special coffee! OMG!!! I really want one now. This would be perfect for us because I sometimes want 1 cup of coffee and other times want 6 cups. DH never wants coffee as soon as he wakes up. Usually he''ll have it when he sits down to work. I on the other hand, must have it before speaking to anyone. He ends up making a new pot or drinking burned coffee that has been sitting in the pot for 2 hrs. -gross.

Miranda - You are the perfect candidate for it!!! I got the "My k-cup" accessory so I can fill it with my own coffee if I want to, but there are so many different kinds of k-cups available that I imagine it will be a while before I use it. Just leave it on and it keeps water hot so brewing is literally about 30 seconds. You SO need one!!

I really, really do, don''t I? I''ve spent the last hour checking them out. My 4 cup Mr. Coffee is about to break, so I''m in the market anyway. I''m curious, why did you choose the B70 vs. one of the lower models?

well, honestly, I thought it was prettier.

but what I pointed out to M was

1) more sizes of brew to choose from
2) it''s quieter
3) the water tank is bigger
4) it''s completely programmable (though I think maybe one of the others is too)

Costco has one of the models right now with a bunch of extra k-cups packed with it. Don''t know which model it is.

LOL, that''s what I thought. I love how it looks, too. It''s the B50 at Costco. I just found it online. It''s $139, comes with extra coffee and the filter. It''s priced $150 elsewhere for just the machine. DH wanted to look at it the last time we were there, but, I told him I couldn''t use Coffee Bean coffee anymore. See what happens when you have a closed mind!!! I guess I was thinking about the yucky Senseo. I''ve learned a lesson...

M was able to use a coupon at BB&B for 20% off so he got it for $160, but he had to buy the filter separately, so I think the costco model is probably a good deal! Amazon has good deals on the coffee, but the keurig site lists all the different kinds available. It''s a LONG list. No more bad coffee!!!

The B50 doesn''t glow blue! M really likes that mine glows... it''s like having a fish tank in the kitchen!

We have a Keurig! We haven''t used it much since it''s been so hot, but we used it a TON in winter. We don''t drink a lot of coffee, but we have 5 different brands of green tea. Yum!

Ebree - it makes good iced tea too! I just put a glass of ice under the spout! If you want to add sweetner, put it on top of the ice and it will melt right in.

We''ve had ours for almost two years--and with the exception of the occasional "misfunction", it works perfectly. I waste and drink less coffee with this one cup system.

For those that have one, what is your favorite k-cup? I''m really digging the Van Houtte French Vanilla.
