As many of you know i don''t purchase to many gemstones..I mostly purchase gem crystals and specimens. They really go hand in hand since where do gemstones come from?? A couple of you have probably already seen these pics. I got it from a person who is selling off his small collection..he said it''s from Minas gerais, Brazil but here in the last few hours i have had two very experienced mineral people tell me it looks like a Himalaya Mine(california) tourmaline. The guy i got it from bought it in San Francisco and not sure how much faith I put in him to correctly say where it''s from ..oh well...732cts. Pink and Green

WOWZA Jason!!

That should be in a museum. It''s huge and such a transparent specimen.

Have no clue about tourmalines but this stone looks beautiful to me.

A very interesting set of pics! Funny how you can get fooled by measurements, cause when I saw that first pic and read it''s over 700 cts, my first mental image was that it''s probably the size of a leg

But a few pics that followed have put things into perspective...

Very nice big pink. Looks delicious to me

Is it a facet grade?

Is it a facet grade?
It probably is because it looks quite clean in many areas, but the colour is just awesome!

I''m no expert by any stretch but that does look suspiciously Himalayaish...

So cool! I love seeing pics like this!!

Holy cow! Please post more of your collection.

You sure it just isn''t candy? I swear that thing looks like it has a flavour

It''s very nice! I agree, I would like to see more of your collection!

zowie!

and to think, they just dig em out of the ground and this is how they come out

Hey Jeff...good eye..dang..after showing this crystal and pictures to 4 different experts yesterday on tourmaline specimens and crystals the full consensus is that it is a himalaya mine california tourmaline..even showed one of my buddies who used to mine and work at the Tourmaline King mine down the road and did peg and mining survey work at the himalaya and I have seen his collection of himalaya mine crystals..he said with almost 100% certainty it''s a himalaya..the guy i got it from didn''t seem to know much about crystals or anything..he had a Nigerian or west african name and his english wasn''t good..picked it up in San Fran he said..so being that 4 who i would call experts and even revolution(aka. Jeff) agree it is probably a himalaya crystal which means it jumps in price significantly..american location that doesn''s produce many if any crystals like this anymore..sweet..good eye jeff
