Sorry for the photo overload. It’s a beautiful Spring day here in Mississippi and we are all really enjoying it. I received this pendant yesterday from the nicest ebay seller....handwritten “thank you” note and all. The stone is supposed to be a blue topaz and it is a “married piece.” Two sections of old jewelry put together. It’s 14kt and 9kt yellow and rose gold 7ADAFE4B-D06E-4B18-9A11-595077F707A7.jpegDF5F620B-7714-4769-89C6-344D978D35F4.jpeg13548E4C-E8C4-45DC-9B92-B03F69892C36.jpegF1927890-D01D-4CFA-8EF8-90E77BCB0E75.jpegand I think it’s absolutely beautiful. The blue is outstanding. I think one of the best parts was the original listing was $125 and she made me an offer of $85. I really couldn’t refuse. 92780B6D-C822-4DBD-B3C5-8E2F8B01EAF6.jpegD50F7205-C7E4-442D-811C-5BC569749769.jpeg

It is pretty, isn't it? People dismiss blue topaz because white topaz is so plentiful and it is treated to be blue, but I love it and have lots pf pendants, rings and earrings. It goes with everything...pretty in summer and winter.

very nice combo to make a pretty necklace...I can see this looking great on a neck wire of some sort, or a blue satin ribbon. Great find, and a great price!!

You know what? That was my first thought when I saw it because I have never seen a blue topaz that exact color. Now it’s time for some research.

I love the cool blues like that. And yes, it’s pretty in any season.

Holy wow!!

That blue is mesmerizing! And I love the long dangle. There's a specific name for a Y-shape style necklace or long pendant like this, right? Anyways, it looks beautiful and the price just makes it even more amazing. Plus, it sounds like you'll get a lot of wear out of it. What a great find!

It's easy to tell the difference between zircon and topaz. Look at the facets. If they show double refraction then it's ziron.

Topaz, Zircon... whatever it is... the blue is just... ahhhhhhh!!!

I just call it a drop pendant. That’s it, all I got..... I bet there is a name for it somewhere.

Thank you for that helpful hint...I looked through my loupe and yes ma’am, I see double refraction. Then I drew a line on a white piece of paper, set the stone over it and saw two lines with my loupe. So it may not be a blue topaz after all???? If not, that’s ok. It’s just one of the very prettiest blue stones I have ever seen.

How exciting! It is absolutely stunning in the sunlight either way!

It’s so pretty and well done. I also on first look thought it looked like a blue zircon.

That is amazeballs!

Thank you! I cannot get over the way it shines. I’m so glad I got it. I always get a little nervous about eBay. I like to be able to touch before I buy.

Uodate: My jeweler called me yesterday about a necklace that needs repair and I had sent the pendent to him to do better soldering so it wouldn't come apart from being a "married" piece. He said when he first looked at it he thought "apatite." I think he may be right. He said it was a beautiful stone and the color was very nice. I researched it and saw apatite hardness is 5 on the MOH scale so now I can see why it was a pendant instead of a ring....and I'm glad!!

This is beautiful! I love the style and color!
