Well, I had 2 implants done 2 days ago and I'm still in pain, when I was 13 I was in a car accido and my mouth was all screwed up and I've had more dental work done than 4 people in 50 years.. Of course this coincides with the fact that my son is getting married in less than 2 months and he's not even got a suit yet! (nor has my husband or other son)..

To tie it into the horrible election, I believe the thought of Trump makes my jar hurt more ;-)

(oh and I have no dental insurance so it's all on me) :(

Ouch! I'm sorry about all of your dental work :(( It sounds awful and I hope that you feel better soon!!!

I thought I was going to read about new boobs until I remembered you had your teeth done.

I hope your mouth feels better soon. You need to get on those men about a suit.

Me too! I am so let down now! ;(

Tekate - I hope your pain subsides soon! Dental pain has a way of exacerbating every other thing you feel, so I imagine it's pretty miserable. Feel better! :wavey:

Hope you feel better soon. I also thought you were talking about boobs from the title    I wasn't sure what to expect.

Not much time left before your son gets married. Congratulations. I hope they get their suits soon.

I hope you feel better soon. Trump must be getting to ya..

Trumpcare will cover you for boobs and getting nice veneers on your teeth, as long as you put out. Implants that help you chew food are an unnecessary luxury and may even pose a threat to national security.

I just finished getting a $9K implant on my right side, but no one cares about a 56 year old dude with one big implant on the right and nothing on the left.

Nice to "see" you VL. Erudite post. I've missed them.

Come back more often, and chew the fat?

ETA: Best of luck Tekate--with your teeth and wedding! Both big affairs!

cheers--Sharon

OUCH! I've had some extensive dental work done, and I feel your pain! Worst part for me was always the novocaine shots in the upper palate... about half of which seem to breech the sinuses. Definitely not a pleasant sensation!

I hope the men in your life get their acts - er - suits together soon!

Hi Kate, wishing you speedy healing and all the best for your son's upcoming wedding! Can we get some bling shots from the big day possibly if you are so inclined? :appl:

Sending lots of healing dust your way!!!

Thank you for replying! I have read your posts over the last year or so and send you good vibes.

LOL, yes if only had had something to put out! :) 64.. I'm lucky if I can stand up.

And you would be surprised, I'll bet there are many out there who think 1/2 an implant on one side is better'n none..

Peace & love to you

(and btw 9K is about right, 5K just for my implants... not included is the new Crowns!!! (as opposed to the old day caps ;-) ) and new bridge.. (about 4K to go)..

That is weird, but glad you found something that works for you. I hope that things go well on Wednesday and that your healing continues =)

Hi, Kate-

I had not opened this thread. I didn't know it was about you or about teeth or that you were in pain. When I saw you allude to being in pain and being grateful to the people who had been kind to you I came to see what you had gone through. i am so sorry that things went awry. Is that because of the accident you were in in the past? I had an implant done with absolutely no drama at all. It was years ago when the procedure was new. My mother (who passed away in 2008) was still living and she became frantic when I told her I was going to have the oral surgery, so I told her I cancelled it and arranged to drive myself to the dentist (oral surgeon) rather than have my father drive me so that she wouldn't know I was going. Of course I wasn't sure it would be OK, but I went there alone and it was. I didn't need painkillers other than the Motrin and i was fine immediately. I am so sorry that you had a bad experience.

Please keep us posted on how you are doing.

Hugs,
Deb

So Tekate ...
Do men stare at your new pair, and say, "Wow! Baby, are those REAL!?!"

boo! Dental work is THE WORST! Somehow that pain is just intolerable. Ibuprofen was the only thing that helped me after getting 2 wisdom teeth out. Vicodin/percocet or whatever they gave me just made me nauseous and bloated (but still in pain). I really hope you feel better soon! :wavey:

I hope you are feeling much better, major dental work sucks :wavey: I have to confess I thought you were going to say you got new boobs too.....

DF, did I miss you, I can't see why, I love you, I love your jewelry.. I want to be your wife, I want a damn 2 carat ring and my cheapskate of a husband won't buy it for me, but you YOU would ;-) (I'm sorry I'm done with my narcotic pain reliever and I'm nutzoid!).

Actually thank you very much.. I am a good friend, and I count you as my friend here, you have class and you stick to your guns.. so when you wish me to feel better, I believe it.. thank you, thank you for your class and your ring.

(now can you send it to me, either ring, your wife or yours, no worries)..

In laughter and friendship DF,

Kate

Yes lovedogs.. i love Ibuprofen, it's the only thing that works really, BUT I do sorta like the zone out of vicodin (my bad).. :) so I'm a woodstock chick!

It's true, narcotics make you ill, when I had my hip(s) replaced the doctor snuck Oxycontin into my meds (I think that is it or condone whichever).. time releaeed form - well one of my total paranoid schizoid coworkers came to see me in the hospital with her looney boyfriend, okay so time release over and I start to get sick, no lie, trying to get to the bathroom and she keeps talking, he's blind so he can only hear me.. I thought OMG, I've entered a new world, Kafkaesque! I'm insane, it was horrible, my coworker just ignored me and kept talking about how crappy work is (only non looney thing she said).. it was an experience, never to be repeated, ever.. so anyway.. while I can stomach vicodin I cannot take anything stronger, nope!

so I always go off on tangents (part of my undiagnosed ADHDDDDDD) :)

thank you lovedogs, I love my dog, life is better with a pet.

Peace and love and again, thanks!!

HI Deb! -
Thank you so much.. Yes, I've had my mouth operated on and wired so many times.. I always survive, I am whiner Deb :)

Wow Deb, glad you made it home okay!! I won't do any comedy :Up_to_something: about my first implants back in 2011ish, suffice to say, my son wanted to call 911 (my younger guy, he's such a sweetie) and i remember my husband saying !!! Kate Kate Kate wake up, I dropped my starbucks iced caramel latte (extra extra extra caramel the grande of grandes)on our rug my son is crying Mom, don't die.. Needless to say that dentist (this time Deb I picked a guy who went to Harvard who is and MD and DDS :) ) overmedicated me and it took 2 days to come to earth.. (while gone, I didn't miss anything but the danged latte!).. all kidding aside, I'm glad yours went easier.. when my son (the younger one, the one who's never given me any problems - YET! ;-) ) had his wisdom teeth out, after surgery he said over and over "Mom, i need to play my guitar" of course he didn't have one and refused to play in the school because his brother did.

You are a wonderful mother Deb and good soul.. thank you.

mucho peace and love.
