My new diamond!

Hi guys,

I usually post in the LIW section but last night my SO let me have a look at the GIA Dossier for my diamond (even though I haven't seen it yet!)

I'm pretty new to this but I wondered if any of you could tell me if this is a good diamond?

Carat: 0.32ct
Cut: Square Modified Brilliant
Colour: E
Clarity: SI1 (Crystal Clarity)
Total Depth: 68.5%
Table Width: 72%
Girdle: MED to STK
Culet: NONE
Polish: EXCELLENT
Symmetry: VERY GOOD
Fluorescence: NONE
Cut: VERY GOOD

It also says 2.1% SQ on the slip it came in and the measurements but I can only remember 2 off the top of my head: 3.81 x 3.89 x 2.??

Really I think I'm going to fall in love with it whatever the GIA says but I thought I'd get people's opinions.

A few notes: I didn't want a very big diamond as I only have small fingers (I in the UK which I think is 4.5 in the US?) Also, the diamond is kite or compass set so it looks very different to a lot of other princess cuts I've seen.

I should probably let the experts answer this, but the only thing that springs to mind is that it's difficult to judge a princess cut on the basis of the information GIA gives. I think most people would probably say to request an ASET to see the diamond's light performance or to stick to AGS000 princesses. But given how he's already bought it, probably neither of these is possible...

Edit: I'm surprised to see Cut info there. I thought GIA doesn't grade cut for princesses.

The only way to judge a princess cut is with photos and ASET images. If you love it when you se it then that is all that matters
