VERY excited about the diamond I just purchased for my girlfriend and soon-to-be fiance. I can't wait to give it to her and see it in person. Here it is:

I'm getting a custom setting made so won't have it for a few weeks, but I'm sure excited to get it and finally put it on her finger!

And although I'm not a regular PS poster, I have found lots of useful info here, so thanks to all of you that contribute!

Can't wait to see real life photos!

She's a beauty!

What does this custom setting look like?

Yes, Toblerone, any hints you can give us as to how this lovely sparkler is going to be set? ITs going to be STUNNING for certain at that size!!!

What's her ring size, too, because it will look extra HUGE if she's a tiny finger gal...

That did not become available until after we bought my BGD blue stone (2.05 I/SI1), but I was totally drooling over the size/price tag of that one!! Your (future) fiancee is one lucky gal! I can't wait to see hand shots! As a side note, I fall more in love with my stone every day (and I loved it a lot from day 1, so that is saying a lot). The cut on them is truly extraordinary!

Thanks for all the responses!

The setting is relatively simple, a micro-pave band I guess you could call it. The side stones will run about half way down the setting, somewhat similar to this:

I'll be sure to post pictures when it's all done.

atp223 - I'm glad to hear you're so happy with your ring! Do you ever see the bluish glow from the fluorescence when you're outside? I think it adds a cool aspect to the stone personally.

A question for all the experts out there - if you look at the idealscope image at the diamond detail page:

http://www.briangavindiamonds.com/diamonds/diamond-details/2.225-i-si1-round-diamond-ags-bl-104055873018

I notice that it's a little fainter in the table area. Would this be consider light leakage or am I just being paranoid? Don't worry, I'm not thinking about returning it as I trust it's a great stone, but I'm curious as to whether I'm reading this idealscope image correctly

Paranoid. :D

Very pretty!

Congratulations!! We just purchased a Brian Gavin Blue last week and am currently waiting for the CAD for my custom setting as well! I was just drooling over this stone today, I love the one we got but this one looks fantastic!! You did a great job, I'm sure she'll love it and I'm glad someone bought it so I could stop lamenting the purchase I didn't make, lol.

That's the stone I bought, I'm a little nervous about the strong blue and would have felt safer with the medium blue but I am so excited to see it in person. Please post pics when you get yours, I can't wait to see the one you bought too!

Gorgeous stone and huge! Can't wait to see it set. Congratulations on an excellent choice! :appl:
