My new diamond bracelet & thanks to Pricescope community

Hi there,

A few weeks ago I posted a question about jewelry manufacture (you can see the thread here: https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/experts-please-weigh-in-jeweler-says.94340/) because I was shopping for a diamond bracelet.

Well, armed with the information I learned from trolling the forums here at Pricescope, I finally found a bracelet I loved, got it independently appraised, and now it is mine!

Thanks to all the experts and regular pricescopers, I got a more beautiful bracelet than I would have found pre-pricescope.

In this one you can see the aquamarine ring my hubby gave me last year for our anniversary (the bracelet is this year''s gift - he is himself a gem!)

Mine doesn''t believe in buying diamonds (anything but diamonds) as he thinks that it is a Debeers monopoly and one day the diamond gates will open and the market will be flooded. Luckily for him I control the finances so if I want to buy a diamond, he can''t stop me!

BGray, no, it is not a vintage piece, it is new manufacture done in a vintage style.

I would love to own some true vintage and antique jewelry, but have a lot more to learn first - when I looked at some pieces, it was very confusing as the dealers would tell me one thing, and when I''d mention that I plan to bring items to an appraiser before buying, would helpfully say, "oh, we''ll appraise it for you!" Um, no. So then I would insist and they would change their tune, and describe the items a little differently. Just gave me a nervous feeling.

Surely there are some great and easy to deal with vintage jewelry dealers around NYC, but I just didn''t have quite enough time to find them, yet. If anyone has recommendations, I''ll save them for the future.
