At last, here it is! The pictures aren't great -- it's much harder to photograph emerald cuts than it is rounds, but I did the best I could.

Maytal was very, very nice and extremely patient with me during the design process. She incorporated all of the design elements I requested and the ring has exceeded my expectations in most areas. As I've mentioned before, I'm not wild about the prong tips and might ask her to refine them a bit the next time I'm in LA. I do worry, though, that tinkering around with an already finished mounting is only asking for trouble. As Rich Sherwood once told me, perfection truly is elusive and sometimes it's better to leave well enough alone. I really do love the ring and wish I didn't obsess so much about these teeny, tiny details.

So, without further ado.....

The profile is very low. It''s a great ring to wear with a toddler -- all the edges are totally smooth.

Very similar to the first pic, but gives a slightly better view of the prongs.

Last one. A bit of fire.

Thanks! Unfortunately, I don't have any hand shots right now as I have a slight injury to the knuckle on my left hand and can't wear the ring until it heals. Shouldn't be more than a few days, though.

Oh, it''s lovely! What a fantastic profile, I loooove how low it sits. And honestly, I love the prongs too...but I''m not a fan of the long, skinny prongs a la Leon (gasp!). I''m hoping to work with Maytal next year for a 3/4 eternity (or three, I''m so torn on which style that I just might have to get multiples

), so I''m on alert for anything said about her...thanks for posting!

Thanks, Octavia. You know, it''s interesting that you say you don''t love Leon''s prongs. There was a time that I really wouldn''t have given much thought to the prong tips either way (as long as they weren''t noticeably misshapen or unusually large), but hanging around so much on PS has warped my brain a bit.

Anyway, Maytal is very easy to work with and super nice. I think she would do a great job on your band (or bands).

I am loving the fire!

Demelza, that ring is lovely! I love an EC and I think the tapered baguette is a great way to compliment your stone. Please post handshots, we are all anxiously awaiting.

Did I mention just how much I love an EC??

What a beautiful classic piece! Can''t wait for handshots! Hope your hand is ok, and that it heals soon!

Hey Demelza...Congrats on the beautiful ring! It''s gorgeous!

What do you think of it, Dem?

Demelza, I think its lovely. The profile is awesome

With these V. highly magnified pics, I can sort of see what you are saying about the prongs - but us PS''ers are Highly critical. Honestly, you can hardly even see prongs day to day.

I hope you love it - I agree that there is something to be said for leaving well enough alone, but you need to be 100% so do what feels right.

It does that. It's these macro shots where we get to see up close and personal every little detail, and come to appreciate them so. In real life, they just aren't that noticeable.

I love the ring Dem, and I really do like the prongs, I wouldn't mess with them. I know they aren't Leon's, but they are pretty nonetheless. And I love the low profile, I bet it is easy to wear indeed. You did good!

Enjoy the ring, and wear it in good health!

gooooorgeous! I love it! So happy for you!

I had my stone set locally and I took it back after my fiance proposed and had the jeweler refine the prongs. I asked to make them more polished. They are not at all too thin, and I am much happier. Don''t discount the idea if it''s what you really want!

Enjoy!! It''s gorgeous! I am drooling! Are you going to wear a wedding band with it? I''d love to see!

Ooohh...Very beautiful!

Demelza--what a stunning ring! Emerald cut tapered baguette perfection! My absolute favorite for emerald cuts!!

Oh Dem that is just exquisite! So elegant!

Oh my!!! Simply gorgous! I am drooling for sure.

Congrats!!!!!

I think she did an INCREDIBLE job on your ring! When I scrolled down, I literally gasped. It's such a graceful ring and it's so impeccably finished, I wouldn't even think to touch those prongs. The way I see it, you still got the Louboutin version of prongs. Leon's skinny minis would be the Manolos. Both are beautiful, and only a small percentage of the population would be able to distinguish between the two.

You have an heirloom-quality piece right there. Enjoy it! I can't wait to see more of that lovely stone and setting!

Elmorton: From one EC lover to another -- thanks!

LuckyTexan: Thanks. I''m glad you like the prongs.

Akmiss: I''ll work on those handshots soon. I promise!

Somehowcollide: I love this look too. The only other option I liked was pairing it with 2 ECs and that just wasn''t in the budget.

Bling addict: Thanks. I just have a blister on my knuckle. Nothing too serious, thank goodness.

Jelly: What do I think? For the most part, I really love it. Unfortunately, it''s part of my personality to second guess and obsess on perceived flaws, no matter how small or insignificant. I do this with many things in my life, but especially with jewelry. I can''t help but wonder whether it would have been "perfect" (if that really exists) if I''d gone with Leon. I can almost guarantee, though, that if I had gone with Leon and some tiny little detail wasn''t exactly right that I would be wondering if it would have been perfect had I gone with Maytal. I don''t like this aspect of my personality, but, for now, that''s how I am. Anyway, I do think it''s beautiful and hope to get over this prong envy soon.

arjunajane: Thanks. I''ll just see how I feel over the next few months until my next trip to LA.

Maisie: Thanks.

Dani: Thanks for the kind words. Yours is one of my most favorite ECs on PS. I was also considering gong with a solitaire like yours. It''s such a stunner! BTW, I ended up with the Pearlman''s ring after all. I returned it almost right away and saw that they lowered the price to 1k. I told my brother in law about it and he decided to buy it for his wife as a last minute b-day present. Well, it turned out it didn''t fit her, so I decided to buy it from her. After looking around at rings in LA, I realized I would be hard-pressed to find anything better even for twice the amount.

Irishgrrl: Thanks. It''s nice to hear you like the prongs.

Ellen: Thanks for chiming in. I was actually really feeling mostly okay about the prongs until I started taking all these macro shots. Yikes! I really am inclined to leave them alone -- you never know what might happen once you start messing around with things.

LoveDeco: I will wear a band with it even though this isn''t actually my engagement ring. I have a thin asscher band I wear with it and also have my eye on an antique baguette/round band on Ebay.

Tuckins: Thanks!

Coatimundi: Thanks for the kind words!! Love your collection, by the way.

DeeJay: Thanks!!!

Julesbeth: Love your EC, by the way. And thanks for the nice words!!!
