Hello all,

As requested by some, I am sharing pictures Mark Morrell sent me based on discussions we had about my 4-prong e-ring (he gave me the blessing to post this). He made four variations of the same ring, basically with/without bead settings and with/without basket diamonds. I think they all look beautiful. Price difference is significant but ultimately not a huge deal for me (I knew going in that it would be pricey).

Before I tell you guys which one I''m leaning towards, what do you all think? Any suggestions? For those who might own a MM ring with basket diamonds at the base, do you like it?

FYI the center diamond is RB 1.255ct. Ring will be platinum, width ~2.5-2.6 mm. I believe the smaller diamonds are all 0.13ct.

I like the bead set side stones without the basket stones.

I prefer the one with a plain shank and diamonds in the head.

Lucky you to have such beautiful options! And kudos to Mark for the photo montage.

In for a penny, in for a pound!

I like the bead set side-stones in the band with basket stones as well. The basket side-stones are definitely more subtle so going with band side-stones and no-basket side-stones would be a close second...

But you can''t go wrong. On the big issue, plain band or bead-set band, I''d go with your gut as to whether you want more or the less-is-more option...

I like the plain band with diamonds in the head as well. Something looks a bit off in the design with the bead set. I''m sure they look fine in real life. Likely just the way they are photographed.

PLain band with diamonds in the head. That way you can have a diamond wedding band.

Mark says the pictures look a little off since he''s drawing this using a new software program. In real life the bead set and head-on view look something like this:

That is a pretty picture. But I think it just depends on how much bling you think she would want. If you go with the pave on the shank, then I think you pretty much need to have Mark make the matching wedding band. But if you go with the plain e-ring shank, then she could try on bands from anywhere to see what she likes with it.

One more thought. have you asked him if a wedding band will sit up close to the e-ring with the head set into the band like that? That's one thing I would want to know, because you wouldn't want the wedding band to hit against the head of the e-ring.

Diamondseeker those are all good points. I guess I haven''t given as much thought to wedding bands as to the e-ring. I''ll have to ask Mark about that. Oh boy, so many decisions!
