So although I don't post very much, I've been an avid PS reader since around 2006, when my then-boyfriend (now DH) and I started talking about getting married. My very first engagement ring was a 1.31 G SI1 (a family stone that was very special to us), set in a temporary TIffany replica setting. I wore that for several years, and then we had a custom setting commissioned by my husband's family jeweler, and I wore that with great happiness for a few years until I unfortunately lost the ring during a move in September 2012.

Thankfully, the ring was insured... I will spare you all the gory details, but 3 vendors later, I happily ended up working with Erica at JbEG -- who as you all know is a DREAM. She helped me choose a beautiful diamond, gave me the sale price on it after the sale had ended, talked me through my metal choice dilemma for the setting, and answered all of my emails and questions so promptly and nicely. I know every review I read about JbEG (and I read them allllll before deciding to go with them) was glowing, but I really cannot recommend them enough.

So without further adieu, here are pics of my glorious Julia!! Erica was kind enough to hold it for me while the ring was finished during our vacation overseas, and sent it to me BRIGHT and early (I'm talking 8am delivery!) on the Saturday we got back! What a present to come home to!! I am so obsessed with it, and of course, the pictures do not do it justice!

Specs:
2.20ct OEC EGL N/O 8.2mm
I forget the exact clarity, but I think it's VS1. It's 100% eye clean.
I wear a size 7 ring.

And now, on to pics! (First, the shots Erica sent me)

I may try and get some macro shots outside when I get home as all of those were taken with my cell phone. In real life, the diamond glows a very lovely ivory and throws off chunky flashes of light. Going from a MRB to an OEC was definitely the right choice for me, even though I loved my previous stone. Erica was concerned about me going from a G colored stone to an N/O, but I love the warmth. The metal is unplated 18k white gold with palladium alloy. I'm still trying to decide what wedding band I want -- but that's half the fun! :naughty:

Oh I so love that setting and it looks great on an N/O. Can you make your pictures larger though so we can see the details?

SO pretty!

Absolutely beautiful!!!

My work computer is fighting me on picture size, but I will try to post larger ones when I get home tonight! It really is a stunning ring, I can't believe how amazing it turned out.

Beautiful! That is one of my favourite settings!! I love the swoopy detail and the pave band around the prongs --- its just gorgeous!! So well worth the wait! And what a beautiful stone, too - I love warm stones --- and yours is just gorgeous (even if the pics are tiny, you can still see its an amazing diamond!)

Congratulations!!! :appl:

Congrats!!!

I have a Julia Bezel by JbEG and I adore it! (but I'm not allowed to talk about here because of the type of stone I used for the center.) But it really is the best ring design like EVER!

We need bigger photos!!

Beautiful! One of my favorite settings! :appl:

Ok, let's try this again! I think I was able to get larger pics (of course, they'll probably be offensively large now... haha). Here's resized of the ones I posted yesterday:

And some additional pics I snapped this morning -- don't mind my crazy nails, I'm going to a bachelorette party tonight.
Thoughts on this band? I'm testing it out (it's a cheapie but I might get a higher quality if I like it).

Yyyyyyyay!!!! I LOOOVE it! And there's no such thing as offensively large pictures on PS! Unless its a picture of me in a bathing suit! Ha!

Beautiful

Oh my gosh, how beautiful!! Gah, these pics are tempting me to reset my stone, I just love this setting...I was wondering who had bought this diamond, and now I know! The stone looks awesome in this setting! Congrats, and have a great time wearing this beauty!

Your ring is beautiful! But then again we must have similar tastes, I'm waiting on my CAD images from Erica for a Julia setting too (no pave though).

Are you wearing the Grace wedding band from JbEG as well?

Oh and I love your nails! :)

That stone is amaze balls and the proportions look perfect on you!!!

Thanks for the bigger pics! LOVE this ring!!!
