We got the images today!! My only concern is that I am worried about the metal overpowering the stones. Is this the way all of these designs look?

Don't worry, all CAD images look SIGNIFICANTLY more bulky and metal-y than the finished pieces. It looks beautiful! Will it be milgrained?

What I liked about the JB star is the antique halo--lots of tiny diamonds around all of the stones. Is this image an accurate representation of the number of stones Mark will use, with all of that metal? Or will this end up looking more like a pave halo (which is what i want)?

AND, do you think the trapezoids are large enough?

Yes! it will-and he said that we can add more miligrain throughout the process!

usually the CAD does show an accurate representation of how many melee stones will be used - afterall, some of the purpose of the CAD is to figure out the spacing/number of these stones and lay them out on the ring. So you may want to ask about that b/c there does seem to be quite a bit of space and gaps between the stones compared to the inspiration ring.

Can you see any photos of other projects he's done with the CAD and the finished product to see how much bulk is eliminated? I would ask about the corners where only one stone sits. Will there be a lot of metal around the stone? Better to tweak it now.

OK I figured out why there are so many fewer pave stones on my ring than on the JB Star ring-the JB Star center stone is twice the size as mine!! Duh!

So what does everybody think? I think the milgrain (which is not shown) should soften the metal
