My hospital story... and a warning.

How are you today, Karl? I hope that in this case "no news is good news", but not hearing from you makes me anxious.

@Karl_K Glad you felt ok enough to check in here! =)2

I just saw your post Karl! I’m so glad that you are on the mend! We love you around here, so please, take good care of yourself!!

I am so happy you decided to go in to the hospital to get checked...I know you must have felt really bad to go in...Thank goodness you were able to get the help you needed to feel better. The muscle pain is horrible..but in the scheme of things TG it’s not dangerous. Was wifey able to go with you to the hospital? I know she is happy you are back home with her... {{{Big hugs}}}

No she was not which was very hard on her.
No visitors allowed in the hospitals right now.
There is discussion that might be the new normal for a good while and that there are going to be a lot more restrictions(less hours, lower number of people, limiting kids) even after that, maybe for good.
To be honest it was much more quiet and relaxing in the hospital than past times. The last time I had a bunch of kids I didn't know chasing each other invade my room. While the parents did nothing about it.
I did miss my wifey a whole bunch but we talked on the phone a lot.

I’m glad you got to talk to her on the phone...That’s crazy parents let their children run around a hospital...into peoples rooms no less..
My daughter-in-law is due to deliver their baby mid June. My son is worried he won’t be able to be there with her. Their three year old won‘t be able to visit her and see his baby brother. I do think it’s really the best but it‘s sad...
I‘m happy you are home with your wifey4ever..❤️

I woke up with a really bad asthma attack. After nebulizer its some better but not all clear. High chance of ending back in the er today.

Oh, no, Karl! I am so very sorry. I will start praying. It is out of my hands. You, however, often have some tricks up your sleeve. If you do, please use them now. (but at least you are not afraid to call for help if you need it now.)

So far so good, its not perfect but its much better than this morning, well above er level right now.
Thank God!
About time for another breathing treatment and that should help some more.
I can never figure out how I should do updates, want to be honest but dont want to be alarmist either.

@Karl_K sending you bucketloads of healing wishes. So relieved you’re feeling better!

@Karl_K Glad you've had a better afternoon! =)2

Oh no. So sorry you are suffering @Karl_K .

Hope that you continue to be better now @Karl_K . My sister has asthma and we’ve spent plenty of time in the ER with her (luckily, not in a couple of years). Praying that your O2 levels continue to rise and stay where they need to be!

@Karl_K I think all our good wishes for you are helping! =)2

I hope you are breathing even better at this point. I just woke up (yes, it is noon here ) and saw your updates from this morning.

Glad I'm not alone in the uncertainty of how much and when to update! Personally, I enjoy your updates at all times and don't see it as alarmist if you have a rough morning. I do worry a lot when I don't see an update and my mind keeps me stressing it could be the worst possible!

As to hospital visitors, I understand it now and hope they make some changes that last but not too many. Maybe one visitor outside of certain hours and a requirement that visitors stay in the room rather than wandering?

Just got off the phone with a cardiologist about some test results.
Have a slightly enlarged right ventricle which goes along with my copd and weight issues and isn't anything to worry about at this time.

Rough night but not feeling to bad today so far.

Hey Karl, continuing to think good thoughts for you and hoping for a complete recovery. I am sorry your night was a bit rough but thankful you are not feeling too ill today. Please make sure to take it easy and eat and drink so you don't get dehydrated or malnourished.

He seems to be recovering. Can't sleep without a CPAP and have to keep an eye so he moves a little during the day, but getting stronger now. I'm holding on. Trying to keep up with classes, keep veggie starts alive, and take care of DH/animals/house.
Glad to hear he is doing some better.
Prayers continue.

I dont know what is the right answer.
No visitors it way to restrictive in normal times but it should not go back to the way it was.
It reflected a lack of respect for others that is so rampant these days.
I remember visiting a relative in the hospital when I was a kid and we were made to be on our best behavior and show respect for others.

I agree! I stayed with my grandmother when she had surgery last summer. The visitors who stayed (mostly) in the patient rooms and were quiet didn't seem to be an issue. The ones walking in swarms and talking loudly about lunch plans as they catch up with people they haven't seen for a bit were obnoxious (keeping her awake at times) and the kids running were just way out of line. I was worried as they ran around while patients worked at walking. (That is aside from the issue I have given the vision in one eye is very bad and I lose balance if something suddenly runs up from behind me on that side. If it is that bad on me, what about others who may have worse issues than that even!?)

I never would have been allowed to act that way! I spent a lot of time in retirement homes, assisted living facilities, and nursing homes when I was much younger. My brother and I were expected to be quiet, sit still where told to, and never ever go in any room we weren't directly walked into with an adult.

bad night bad day...worse since i got out.
Getting a little frustrated.
Prayers needed please.
