Well, I saw this and really liked the colour so I bid and I bought it. I wasn’t expecting much for around $100 US with a chain but I was aware I might have bought a hunk of green plastic on a cheap nasty chain. That’s the chance you take.
So, the chain was hallmarked 750 (18kt) so that’s a win!
The yellow metal around the green stone isn’t stamped but acid tests for 22kt gold. Another win.
The green stone tests as Jadeite on the Presidium so yay, it’s not plastic or glass.
As for type, who knows. The colour is so good it has to be dyed but I know nothing about jade.
I just love the colour so I’m very happy.

I know nothing about jade/jadeite - but that color is pretty and that high karat gold color is gorgeous. Show the chain too, please?

My daughter has already “swiped” the chain ha ha, it was a bit too fine and short for me!
i was hoping it was Chrysoprase in the pendant and not glass or worse, plastic. So I don’t mind if it’s treated jade, it’s such a pretty colour. I’ll just keep it away from chemicals and sunlight in case it fades! Newbie Jade collector here so I'll put my 2 cents here, the internal structure seems very veiny/etched out, and/or dyed too from the result of acid erosion, seeing how the green seems to be scattered onto the cracked areas rather than having it's own crystalized structure based on other minerals trapped inside it to give the Jadeite it's own color sort of speak, also the various holes in the second picture seems to look like various pitting in it's pores which is a sign of the mentioned acid erosion that can basically destroy what Jadeite's known for; it's tough, brittle structure, now being simply brittle and fragile.
Additionally it seems like the dye is glowing green if both of the pics taken are from a UV light, which is a sign of a Grade C Jade as Grade A Jades usually never glow under long wave UV, if they do, it's a weak white blue glow.
You can also do a specific gravity test on the piece to give you a (somewhat) conclusive answer to it as Jadeite is AT LEAST 3.33g-3.8g

Yes Im sure it is treated / dyed, that colour would be worth thousands ha ha. I only bought it for the colour which is really lovely especially in sunlight and I’m very happy it’s not plastic!
