I thought I would post some pictures of my flowers. They are doing awesome this year; I don''t know why. We bought new pots, got new soil, went to a nursery to get the flowers and use MG pellets. Something or all of the above is working. Here are some photos.

The nursery listed these as daisies but they look like small carnations to me.

lovely container garden marcy...as someone who has filled our patio with plants in pots, i definitely know there are challenges to getting the flowers to bloom within a confined space..good job!!!

wonderful looking flowers! thanks for the show.

Thank you Mara and Crown1. Mara, next year I think I will put a few less flowers in each pot; they really took off this year and some of them are getting kind of leggy. We''ve only have about 7 or 8 weeks of growing season left this summer so I trimmed some of them back a little this morning.

Beautiful! I could use your help in my yard

Marcy I actually have become better about finally overstuffing my pots...that is how you can get the max visuals from the pots is to pack the plants in there which took me a while to learn...I do trim them back continuously though so they don't get too leggy and fertilize like mad with time-release Oscomoted.

In the past I used to underplant the pots meaning that you'd still see dirt, because I was hoping the plant would use the extra space to get bigger, but actually that didn't really give me max visual impact, and I have a small space so I need real performers who are low-maintenance.

I really expect a lot from my pots and flowers so I almost prefer they bloom themselves to death, I can always get more..and I do.

I make nursery trips like every 2-3 months and come home with new goodies, rip out old underperformers and replace them. Greg is always like aww what's wrong with this one, why are you tossing it? But our patio is limited space so even if a rose I like doesn't perform, I tend to rip it out and most likely give it to my Mom who has a much larger yard and can take my rejects and make them work for her! So it works out.

Beautiful flowers Marcy. Job well done!!!!!!!

Linda

Thank you Tacori.

Thank you for the tips, Mara. This is probably the first year I overstuffed my pots and they are blooming like crazy this year. The pots are really overflowing so I guess that makes sense they will look their best. I guess I''ll do the same thing next year. My mom get''s my extras too. She loves to garden. It''s nice you can garden year round. The photos you posted of your flowers are awesome. You certainly have a green thumb.

Thank you, Linda. I love your signature stone. It is very pretty. What type of stone is it?

Hi Marcy,

It is my Padparadscha Sapphire. I have it set into a ring. I LOVE Pads. They are my favorite stone. I have quite a few of them.

Linda

It''s a lovely stone. Do you have a picture of your ring posted online; or I''m thinking of someone else''s ring? I love sapphires too. I don''t have a pad though. Something new to add to my wish list, huh?

I love they yellow pansies

Here are some african daisies
I have some of those in my containers...I mixed them with lavender petunias, white geraniums, and something else sort of viney and purplish. The interesting thing about them is the little insert thing that tells you what they are and where to plant/shade,sun, etc. said the variety was called "Sopranos." 90% of the reason I bought some is because of the variety name, because DH loves the Sopranos, and I think when I bought them the last episode was about to air! Anyway, they''re so pretty, but mine have gotten super leggy and have stopped blooming, boo.

I got some "filler" plants as well that are such a dark purple they are almost black, and they''re called "fishnet stockings!" I thought that was too cute and I had to add them to a couple of my containers!

beautiful flowers, macy! Especially those pink daisies that look like carnations. I love those!
I have a few pots around the yard (two near the front door) and I always forget to fertilize so they don''t look their best. I need to do that today!
I love the variety you''ve got going on there. Looks great.
