And we didn't even make it to the proposal yet!

As some of you may recall, our lovely resident experts helped my boyfriend pick out a gorgeous 1.288 G SI1 ACA from Whiteflash at the end of June. We held onto it for a few weeks, admired its beauty in the viewing box, and then sent it off to David Klass to be set in a platinum split-shank design.

Well, my amazing boyfriend decided that he underestimated his budget for this once-in-a-lifetime purchase (he really is the sweetest :kiss2:) and started looking on Whiteflash this past weekend for a larger diamond. He found a couple of options that interested him and reached out to Becca, who once again provided excellent customer service and helped guide us to our new diamond.

Without further ado, here she is! She's currently reserved while we get the logistics of getting our original diamond back to Whiteflash worked out, but I am sooooo over-the-moon EXCITED that I could not resist coming here to share!!!

Thank you to all for providing such a fun and supportive community throughout this process. I'll share some hand shots from Becca in the next post; those photos really helped seal the deal as I was on-the-fence about trading in due to my attachment to our current diamond as well as the logistics involved.

Now for the photos that really sealed the deal for us.

Becca pulled two diamonds that we were comparing: the 1.716 G SI1 on the bottom and this 1.537 G VS2 on top.

This was her feedback on both stones: Both are really beautiful options. The 1.7ct gets you an obvious boost in size and is completely eye clean even from 6 inches. It has some gray colored inclusions that I could pick up pretty easily under magnification but couldn’t personally see without the loupe. The 1.537ct has lighter colored inclusions and need the loupe to see them.

Obviously size won this battle! :D

How exciting! Do you have your split shank ring from DK already? Can this new stone go into that setting without too much reconfiguring? Or, do you get to keep both the old ring and the new one :shhh:

Wow - going from 7 to 7.75mm is a nice big upgrade! Congrats!

Luckily, we had just given DK the green-light to start making the ring last Monday after some back-and-forth about the CAD, so he (hopefully) hadn't gotten too far into the process by the time we told him about changing our center stone this Monday.

To his credit, David Klass has been above and beyond for us – gracious, supportive, and understanding of all these last minute changes. He said he completely understands and encouraged us to take our time on making a choice because the center stone is a really important decision.

I do not get to keep both, so the first one will be going back to Whiteflash and applied as a trade-in to the new diamond.

None of this would be possible if we weren't working with such amazing vendors, so I'm incredibly grateful to all involved. Both Whiteflash and David Klass have earned customers for life.

Wow! Lovely upgrade!

Nice! I am impatient on your behalf.

That is a beautiful stone, and what an upgrade! I can’t wait to see it set! Congratulations!
