Hi hhere.

I see the certificate is from an unknown source. I have been advised many a times that one should stay away form another certifications besides GIA, IGi and HRD.

GIA is based in the US and HRD and IGI are based in Antwerp.

Any other certifications like this one or EGL should not be entertained as they are misleading . My advice only ......but do take caution as it is your hard earned money

I have searched for a diamond for over 2 .5 months and these are my findings. Fair & Square.

Im not sure where the confusion is, but its a BGD stone and its an AGS lab report.

AGS certs are pretty much the gold standard here. I know the alphabet soup of all the organizations and shorthand can be confusing. If you have a question about a specific BGD stone, I would use the chat feature on their website or call or email with one of their reps. If the stone is in-house they can give you a sense of whether this is visible and whether it affects performance. If it is a signature stone, it is doubtful that the chip has any impact on performance. That said the experts here will hopefully chime in regarding chips as inclusions. I would personally steer away from this for an online purchase, but that is just a gut feeling and not based on any special knowledge or understanding. I guess I would wonder where the chip came from. However, if the chip doesn't affect performance and allows you to afford the size/color/cut you want, for a set of studs it is probably fine.

I looked at the plot but could not see where that clarity issue was (chip). But that does not mean it isn't there!

To the OP I would call BGD and ask about it. It is their signature diamond--they would know about it.
