Merry Xmas Pricescopers!!
Another long time lurker here, and am sooo excited about my new bling just had to share!! This forum has been an amazing resource, thank you for all your posts, I hope my specs and info will help add to the community
Feel free to ask any questions... I went back and forth so much for a long time, but am soo happy with my final decisions!!!
Here's a little background on me:
My husband and I have been together for almost 10 years, married for over 2 years now. After grad school, jobs, health insurance, buying our first home, we went to the court house and made our relationship official.
On that day, I picked out my wedding band at the mall from Kay's, a 10k White Gold, 2.5mm band for $40.
Our student loan debt kills us financially, but we work hard and are savers, so the time came from my upgrades, whooohooo!!
After months of research, we got the wedding band about 6 months ago, and then the engagement ring yesterday. He totally surprised me with the earrings!! We talked about it, but decided to wait on them, so he fooled me on that one, what an amazing surprise!!
On a side note, this has an been an exceptional Xmas year for me, I have NEVER owned this type on jewelry, but it has been pretty nice getting used to all this bling, hahaha. My husband is very happy as well (he wasn't left out): We traded in my Honda CRV for a new black Passat Volkswagen, he looooovvees driving it, it's so much fun!!
So that's my background, but more importantly, here are the details!! Cheers!!!!
(Most pics are blurry sorry, but there may be some good ones for "real life" perspectives).

Notes:
-3.74 total diamond weight for both rings.
-Cushion was at the lowest price I have seen with that type of spread.
-James Allen gave a 5% Pricescope discount on the diamond (could have gotten 10% off engagement setting, but was more cost worthy to go with the 5% discount on diamond).
-Originally was looking at lower total carat weight studs, the 1 carat has a great bling effect, and unless you have more than one hole in your ears, glad he picked the 1 ct. tw.
-Screw backings on the studs are great, very reassuring they are on!
-First had some reservations about the I color (next to the Eternity band H stones), and also wasn't sure about the smaller engagement ring band width compared to the eternity ring (2.2mm versus the 3mm), but the ring has really grown on me and am really happy with both decisions now. In my opinion, getting the same mm width on the engagement ring would not allow the diamond to stand out the way it is now. Also, to get the same Cushion measurements for an H color, and VS2 (not the VS1 I'm at now), the increase in price was an extra $2500, yikes!! An H color is not that big of a jump for color either.
-Really like the 3/4 eternity common prong setting on the engagement ring. I like the rings somewhat loose, so even when the Ering spins, you still see the side diamonds.
-Would definitely recommend both Bluenile and James Allen. We planned on going with Bluenile for the ering, but we like the setting a bit more at James Allen and I loved how they showed the actual diamond images at the JA site.
