I have my e ring!!! This has been, hands down, the most difficult of the wedding planning for me. If you want the LONG story, I will post it below.
Long Story: I knew I wanted a delicate, yg, art nouveau ring that was north south. Little did I know that there are very few art nouveau rings. I found one I loved, but it had already sold and it would have been too large, but I knew something like the style I wanted existed. I searched all over Colorado, including Aspen which has lots of antique jewelry stores. I searched the internet in three languages. I checked ebay every other day for over a year. My FI and I were studying abroad in Europe and searched five countries, including Paris where the ring was made, and no luck. When we got back we agreed to go the custom route. Because my mom works in a jewelry store, we went with the custom person they use. It was a DISASTER. Cried, had them make another wax, tried again. Agreed with corrections the wax would work and they cast it. Problem was, not only did they not make the changes; they did quite a bit to cheat us. We decided to give it one last try and I went to a custom jeweler who works 3 blocks from where I grew up and he did it! I scoured the earth and the answer was three blocks away, go figure.
Anyway, here is the ring. I am not very good at photographing jewelry, but the opals have a lot of fire in real life. The top has a blue fire and streaks and the bottom has red fire and little spots of color.
