Re: My e-ring...What do you think of the setting? Not my sty
I'm sorry you don't like it. I think it's lovely but you are the one who needs to love it. Ask the mods to move this thread to rocky talk or show me the bling, you will get more responses!
Re: My e-ring...What do you think of the setting? Not my sty
It is pretty and I can see why you might not love it. A 3 stone halo'ed ring is a bit more RHR'ish then an ering. I would just talk to your FI about it. If you are still within the return period perhaps he can return it and you can pick out something you both love. I wouldn't keep quite about it.
Re: My e-ring...What do you think of the setting? Not my sty
What kind of ring did you want? I'm assuming he just picked this out for you with no input from you?
I agree with others - as long as you are in the return window, all is not lost. You will have to talk to him about it and explain what you don't like or what you were hoping for.
It is a beautiful ring but if it's not you, then it doesn't matter.

Really pretty - and a lot of finger coverage and sparkle. Do you know where it's from?
(Plenty of people will tell you to speak up, so I'm just gonna stay mum.........)
Best of luck with your predicament!

I think it's a gorgeous ring. 3 stone rings and the proportions of the side stones to the center stone can be very personal especially in an ER. I happen to like a smaller side stone relative to the center stone. Maybe that is what is bothering you?
Re: My e-ring...What do you think of the setting? Not my sty
Can the ring be returned for full refund? If so, then follow next step. Have an honest discussion with your FI, and let him know how you feel and what you think (prefer). Remember, communication is step number one in a long term relationship. At first, he may feel hurt temporarily and he may think it is his right to choose a ring for you. After your discussion, both of you will realize that it makes no sense for you to wear a ring with which you are not 100% thrilled.
If, however, the ring cannot be returned, if I were you, I would do the followings: Wear it until I have enough money to get another ring. Then, either use the first ER as a right hand ring/stand-alone wedding band, or convert it into a pair of haloed studs and a haloed pendant.
Personally, I think your ring is superbly executed - delicate and fine halo, great or proportion and uniformity, and great finger coverage. It is a keeper!
Re: My e-ring...What do you think of the setting? Not my sty
I do think it is beautiful, but it also would not be my personal choice for an engagement ring. Was the proposal a total surprise? I realize guys do not always get hints. There was another girl on here in the last couple of days who did leave hints and he still went with something that was nothing like she wanted!!! At least in your case, the ring is beautiful, because I have seen a few that were pretty bad on here in the past.
I always hate these situations because they are difficult. But it is much better to deal with it now rather than when it is too late. I hope you can do a total return and then start over and not be locked in to one jeweler. But unfortunately, the other thing that many guys do not understand is that they should only use jewelers with an unconditional return policy. Good luck and let us know what happens!
