It was requested by a couple of you that I start a thread sharing some of my dye work. What started out as a hobby on my husbands old under shirts ended up becoming married with my love of babywearing and handwoven textiles and clothing. I just started this journey so I don't have a ton to share but figure I will add to the thread as I am able. The weaver-Anna at love to barter and sells her work for a very reasonable price which are roughtly 52.52 per meter for just custom dyed warp, solid weft
61.40 per meter for both custom dyed warp and weft

She is very interested in finding someone to do seamstress work in exchange for handwoven yardage, as well as lots of other random stuff.
She can be found at
https://www.facebook.com/ClothOfKin/?fref=ts

https://www.etsy.com/ca/shop/ClothofKin

http://clothofkin.com/

I just wanted to make sure I gave credit to the weaver since I am only one small part of creating this beautiful cloth. I am wearing a lot of stuff now a days (not that I created) but I will also share my clothing I have had made from blazing shuttles (who was my inspiration into getting into the dye services for weavers
https://blazingshuttles.com/shop/page/3/

And Wild Fire ranch who uses her work and has created many beautiful articles of clothing for me from it
https://www.etsy.com/ca/shop/WildFireWool?ref=pr_shop_more

I don't have a shop, or a name for my business yet. I guess I probably should figure that out? This is all so new to me and since I usually barter I didn't really think of having a business or a shop ever since it's mostly a hobby at this point. When I'm done being pregnant (expecting #3 currently) and nursing I'll likely take on a more serious business approach.

I hope you enjoy my art (and the other handwoven goodies that inspired my journey!) All of my dye work has been with the 'just wing it approach' and very little method behind it, as I'm going along I'll figure it out!

I am trying to keep certain things together so there is some order to it. These I sent to anna in exchange for a wrap that she already created, she is using these as weft (the width of the fabric). All of these are on the same warp which I didn't dye, which is the length of the fabric.
It still amazes me how the weft can change the warp so much.

Some more, its amazing how a white warp can lighten up the weft so much!

This is a full custom baby wrap I just sent out to her, recently beamed. She did some weft sampling (same warp as a couple of the other examples above) that actually will be used on this warp, but she wanted to make sure it was pooling as we had hoped. The warp is cotton and my phone blue washed it a lot more than it is IRL so her pictures are more accurate for the colors than mine are.

Here are a few photos of the weft which is tencel-3 skiens for each section of the baby wrap (2 longer wraps and a small ring sling piece). The ring sling piece of 2 skeins came out much different than I expected, I did a bit of a blob rush job but the sample weft on the warp it isn't being used with just goes to show it still will weave up beautifully!

I also dye tula brand baby blankets (the design was on there, I just hand painted it a different color-the blue water and the green land masses were both tan)

here is another piece by her, and then a hand dyed, hand spun, hand knit lace sweater a friend of mine made me.

I have more but no pictures at the moment. I just had the long rainbow handwoven baby wrap converted into a maxi skirt and ruana which I still need pictures of but it just arrived on Tuesday. That was woven by woven rainbows.

Awesome! I am geeking out on this thread; my degree is in Textiles/Apparel/Merchandising. I LOVED my Textiles classes. Warp and weft are music to my ears, hahaha! :appl: Your work is beautiful, as is that of the other artists. Thank you for sharing.

Thankfully I've had free reign on color choices, we shall see if I am as successful with doing things people are ordering and giving inspiration pictures for!

Someone who knows what they mean YAY!
I love slow fashion and my clothing is starting to be mostly that instead of my thrift store finds. I'm hoping to inspire others to have OOAK things and be unique. I certainly turn heads where ever I go

Someone posted this meme and I was like HEY THAT WILL BE ME! LOL!

Beautiful! Love the wonderful colors! I have a 4 harness 36" loom that I weave on now and then still. Used to love doing shibori dying on hand woven scarves. :)

Gorgeous!!! I love the baby wraps with the cotton for the warp and tencel for the weft. And the photos of the warps alone are gorgeous. You are so talented. (And yes, I'm a fiber geek!)

Tried to find a picture but this is the best on I have. I recommend a lighter weight yarn, the sleeves really tug a the neckline and its quite warm. I think this is wool and mohair and silk on the ends.

ETA: I am seeing a pattern in the colors I like....that baby wrap I am having made is almost identical in colors to this bell sweater!

Thanks so much for sharing! I'm seeing a pattern in your colors too - they are the colors that I'm always drawn to, but even better. They are so rich and vibrant!

Thanks ladies!
I have updated shots of it being woven up. This is the custom's moms piece (and a sampling of cottolin peacock weft in a straight twill) the dyed stuff is plain weave.
