Okay please honestly tell me what you think of my dress. I love it but my mom just saw it and freaked saying it had way too much going on and where are ruffles?

RUFFLES? What the??? Now I am confused. And I know its my wedding and my dress and stuff but I would still like my mom''s approval even if she is slightly insane

. She loved the veil and I think it''s ugly. That lady just stuck it on my head. So I would like to have your approval and disapproval if you have it.

This is from the front-they had to clothes pin it on me-the lady next to me was shooting daggers my way.

And here it is from the side- I really do like it. It reminds me of Jessica Simpsons dress but without the Vera Wang tag and the $20,000 to make it. I love David''s Bridal!!!!!!

I absolutely love it!!

I don''t think it is too busy at all, and I am GLAD there are no ruffles!

As for the "too much going on," I think that effect is really because the veil doesn''t quite go with the dress. I think it''s a pretty veil, but I think you might need a simpler style veil next to the pattern of the dress? Just a thought. In any case, I really do adore your dress!!!! Try showing your mom another picture with no veil and see if she thinks it''s a little less busy!

I think you''re dress is gorgeous and very elegant! I don''t think there''s too much going on, but that all depends on perspectives. Maybe your mom had envisioned something simpler? It doesn''t matter though because you are the one wearing it and if you love it, go for it!!

I agree with albicocca, the veil should be simple because your dress has details to it. Maybe you can go for a veil that is slightly shorter?

I think it is beautiful!!!

I love the lace/beadwork on it. Plus it looks great on you! Sounds like the lady next to you was a wee bit jealous.

Oh well...you look fabulous in it. Congrats. Hopefully your mom will come around to liking it too. But in the end, it''s your wedding and if this is the dress that "speaks" to you than I say go for it!!

Oh Peach, it''s beautiful!!!! Don''t listen to your mom, they generally don''t know what they are talking about (at least that''s what I tell myself when my mom doesn''t agree with me.

) If you love it than get it!!!

I love your dress!

With your dress, that particular veil is a big (buzzer sound at a high school basketball game)

Its absolutely gorgeous! And I really like the veil, I think it goes great with that dress. Maybe you could just compromise on the veil to make your mom happy? Its really important to me to have my mom''s approval too, but if I find the dress and she doesn''t like it, I''d probably get it anyway.

Love the dress, but you''re right about the veil. Simpler would be better to show off the details on the dress. Ruffles? Cripes. I just hope my mom doesn''t try to talk me into a dress with a hoop skirt. Jessica Simpson''s dress cost $20,000? Goodness! Alot of money for a three year marriage!

Wow, I love it! It looks great on you!! I have to agree with the other ladies that a simple veil may be the best choice with such an ornate dress but I really think the dress is lovely.

It's absolutely gorgeous! I love it and it looks really good on you. I think on this one, you'll have to respectfully disagree with her and since it's your wedding, if you love the dress, that's the one! BTW, I love that veil with the dress.

*picks jaw off the floor* I LOVE it! It''s gorgeous!! You must feel like a princess in it...

If you love it and want it, then go for it!! I think it would be beautiful with a plain veil.

What does she mean by "where are the ruffles?"?? She wants you to have ruffles? (Eep!)

Love, love, love the dress on you

really don''t like the veil with the dress! Go for the dress if you love it! I know it''s definitely hard to please everyone when it comes to weddings...but if that dress calls your name then go for it!

Your dress is PERFECT!!!! You look so gorgeous in it!

I have to agree with most of the ladies and say no no no to that veil. I think it competes with the dress in a bad way, taking away from the gorgeous sleek line of the dress. Go simple, maybe one layer or a drop veil. Congrats on the dress!

I looked on the David''s bridal site and they sell coordinating ribbons. Are you going to get one? I think it looks gorgeous with or without, I''m just curious.

It is absolutely STUNNING!!! Although, I would be go with a simpler veil.

i think the dress is beautiful, peach. i love the bottom. i don''t think it''s too much at all, but i would go with a veil that''s more simple. that one is beautiful, but i think it detracts from the dress a little. my personal suggestion would be not to wear a veil at all, but i''m not sure how you feel about that option.

i feel your pain about compromising. it''s tough. while it''s definitely your day it''s nice if your mom is happy too. i think no matter how old we get, there''s still a part of us that will want our mothers to be happy. i wanted a simple lace dress without a veil or a train. my mom wanted the hoop skirt, blusher, and long train. in the end i''ll wear a lace sheath, but embellished with pearls. i''ll have a short train and no veil. it''s a compromise, but i love it... and so does she. hopefully you and your mom will come to a middle ground you''re both happy with as well.

good luck!

Love the dress! You''re right, ver similar to Jessica''s but actually more tasteful IMHO- I like the higher neckline on yours vs. her sweetheart neckline.

I really don''t like the veil, though, and in fact I think that unless you are totally hooked on doing a veil you could just do a lovely, understaded headpiece instead, like a very small tiara, that didn''t detract from the beauty of the dress.

Great choice!

I think its gorgeous too - not overdone at all, because while the lace and such is very ornate, the shape and style is classic and understated, and so it balances really nicely and it looks lovely on you.

I agree with the other girls about trying a different veil though - probably something simple would be best, but I''d try a few to try to get a sense of what YOU like.

I love that dress, it was actually my second choice. it is modelled after Jessica Simpson''s. Lovely. I do agree that the veil doesn''t quite match though, and would definately go for something simpler.

I love that dress. I tried it on when I was dress shopping.. it was too much dress for me.. but I LOVE the lace and I don''t know if you can tell in the pics but that dress really sparkles! In the new davids adds they are showing it with a ribbon on the waist.. I love it that way too!

I love the dress, but would like to see it with a simpler veil and/or headpiece that doesn''t try to compete with/detract from the dress. Great choice--it looks wonderful on you!
