Hi all! I come asking for advice. Yesterday I noticed that my diamond is loose. I can hear it slightly rattle when I shake it. I know I need to get it fixed but was unsure if I should take it to a local jewler or send it back to the company we got it. I got it online with Affinity Diamonds. I really rather not send it back to them, just because it will take so long to get it back, but I am concerned about bringing it to just anyone! I have heard horror stories about switching diamonds and stuff. Any suggestions?

What sort of setting is it?

this is one good reason to have a relationship with your local jeweler. taking your diamond in for maintenence shouldn''t be scary. i would suggest visiting at least a few to get a feel for who you would be comfortable doing business with. when you take your diamond to have any work done, the jeweler will usually record your diamonds'' unique inclusions. make sure you are familiar with these inclusions so that when you pick up your diamond you can identify it. another good identifier is a girdle inscription. a quick look through the loop will confirm you have the correct stone.

jazmine, it is a radiant is a four prons setting. It is set rather high and I am thinking that I may want to have the diamond set a bit lower in the process. I have been known to bang it on things!
Belle, thanks for the advice.
