so my diamond arrived, it is a J color 0.6ct vs2
i was not sure about it since the table i 58, crown 33.5 and pav 41.
I bought it before I knew better but since I can return it, I decided to at least see it first. the hca was 1.2 so it could be nice. didnt get an aset or idealscope cause it was bought from sweden.
y first reaction was. wow it is so white! I was worried anout it beeing to yellowish.
second thought, shouldnt it sparkle more?
simce this basically is the first big diamond ive ever seen and first diamond ive ever inspected, im clueless.
Im not sure Im allowed to take it out of its box if I want to return it so my pics are of it in the box.

what do you gurus think?
should I keep it or let it go back?

soooo sorry bout the crappy phone pictures!

I'm no expert at all but that looks beautiful! I think it will sparkle a lot more but in different lighting conditions. I'm sure once its set and you're wearing it out in the sun or in a department store , it will sparkle like crazy!

You think? Well accually I tookit outside and the bling was literally hurting my eyes, like looking directly at the sun haha, and its sooooo white!
But still my gut feeling is, I can do better, all due to the angles....and perhaps I could go higher in color, evenif its white in rhe box, if I take it out and its too yellow, I cant return it....
Oh, and all the green is reflection of my phone case.

I think it's quite lovely. If hte price was good, keep it.

The price was good, also the invoice read 200$ less than agreed so very good.
But still if I break the seal theres no returning it so Ithink I need to ask a few things before I decide upon keeping it.

1. Ithought the arrows would be more visibla and darker color. These are visible but not dark at all, is that good bd or no impact?
I visualised the arrows to be likein thepictures you seeon james allen and like.

2. The stone is very white, compared to my tiny H, its the same face up. Since I cant tke it out to seethe whole thing, i wonder if I should expect the color to remain this white even after I take it out of the box or not?

3. This is the gia report, I know its not perfect, but is it good enough to be a diamond you should keep?

4. I see noinclusions even when looking through a 10x magnifier, still theres a feather inclusion, if I cant see it, is it safe to say it doesnt affect diamond durability?

5. It sparkles alot under the sun and halogen lamps, but inside with regular light it looks dull, is this common or is it becuse its a bad cut?
5. Anything else Ineed to think about before I decide?

Some people would consider the crown slightly shallow but it has a complimentary pavilion angle so it looks pretty nice.
Check it out in all different lighting situations. Look for fire (colored light flashes).

If you like what you see then I would keep it!

My cousin just got a J colored diamond in her engagement ring and it is amazingly white in nearly all lighting. The only time it looks "yellowish" is when she's in a room or wearing something that will reflect those warm colors. But if she wore a red shirt, it may also reflect red, which doesn't mean the diamond itself has turned red, of course!

But it sounds like you aren't 100% certain or happy, and if you can't return it once it's open (which sounds kind of weird to me, and I would call the seller and ask if that is really true because how can you know how it will look without actually opening it?), then you should return it and find a diamond with a seller that has a better return policy so you can truly inspect the stone prior to setting it.

1. Arrows don't typically look like they do in the photos. If you bring it real close to your body or obstruct it you'll see the arrows darken, but they probably wont be jet black like you see in the photos. So don't worry about that.

2. It wont get yellow from taking it out of the box, but you may notice more color from the sides when you take it out. Face up position, like it is now, is where it will appear whitest.

3. You have the stone in front of you, we don't. Let your eyes tell you whether you love it or not.

4. It is common under certain lighting that the diamond won't sparkle like crazy. You should still be able to see some scintillation and white light display, but you arent always going to see it throwing colored sparkles.

Ok, so I looked at it in several light situations and it blings pretty good. Inside in regular lighting its not so firey, but it sintilliates with white light reflections.
I took it out of the box, And am very happy with color. So yes I will keep it. Pricewise its 200$ cheaper than the cheapest diamond J vs2 that has bigger table and worse angles. And it is very pretty, i tried to compare it to real pictures of other similar diamonds on hands and it seems to look equally pretty.
Now I just need to set it:)
Already planning stone number 2

just have to say the more i look at it the more im avvually happy with it. so the angles arent super ideal.but they match and it blings and is far whiter than i expected.
i think sonce ots my first diamond purchase i really didnt know what to expect. but it looks really pretty☺
just want to add some pictures of it out of the box.

thank you☺
ive thought anput setting it low in a solitaire. something that is practical. since I live in the öand of eternal winter I need to still be able to put gloves on when cold haha also Im afraid I'll keep banging it into stuff if its set too high. I have a 4mm plain gold band now and im thinking 2mm. small fingers aswell so I need to keep it simple☺
