My bridesmaids (sans MOH... she's been MIA for a while) and I went dress hunting on Saturday. I basically told them they could pick what ever dresses they wanted, as long they all were knee-length, slate blue in color and chiffon fabric. The designer we liked had plenty of choices that met my requests and the girls tried on 20 or so dresses.. but they all fell in love with the same one.
And it just happened to be the one I loved the most too! Yay!
And I think they wanted to kiss me when they heard that the dress was $145.00. Everyone wins!

So what do you ladies think? (thanks to Alleyoop for pointing the dress out to me!)

(BTW.. here is a link to a pics of my dress) bride-world-wide-grooms-grooves/help-jaylex-find-bm-dresses-please-t146739.html

So my dilemma now is what to have the Jr. BM and flower girl wear? I'm pretty sure the Jr. BM (as tiny as she is) could fit in a size zero of the same style, but I'd probably want to have straps added to the dress. She is fiance's 12 year old sister... and even though fiance's mom will probably be offended that her daughter wouldn't be wearing the same "exact" dress as my bm's, she would probably be just as offended if I asked her young daughter to wear a strapless dress. So I know I won't be able to win, either way. And no offense to fiance's sister, but there is no way she could keep that dress up on her own. And I want her to be comfortable.

Now to the flower girl... also fiance's sister... she's 7. The bm dress style doesn't have a "matching" flower girl dress, but that's ok. I figured we could possibly order one in the same color and fabric, even if it's not an exact match. I'd rather it not be, actually. I just want it to coordinate well. What do you think of these?

Which flower girl dress do you like best with the bm dresses?

Sounds like a great and successful day. Slate blue sounds beautiful.

I vote for the first dress. It just seems to fit the style of the BM dresses the best while still being age appropriate for a 7 year old.

Is there someone in the family that would shorten it? If not it might cost more than you'd think to shorten a chiffon dress, that fabric is tortureto get a hem straight!

Thanks for your opinion, Rose :)

Mustang, fiance's mom would shorten it. She's a great seamstress... I didn't think about the trickiness (?) of the fabric.. she knows it will be chiffon though... so I'm assuming she would have mentioned something if she couldn't.

Thanks for your insights, ladies 8)

J, love the bridesmaid dresses your ladies chose. they are going to be gorgeous. as for flower girl dresses, i like the third one you posted best. but really any of those three would be lovely & even if fi's mom can't hem them, i think full length would be fine for the flower girl :)

I think the first one goes best with the bm dresses. Very pretty!

thanks, lulu and diamond. Well, flower girl very sweetly mentioned to me that she doesn't care for ruffles or "big flower things" on dresses she wears. I'd like her to be comfortable... so I think I'll honor her request by not choosing the third dress.

When I was describing the dresses to her, the description of the second was her favorite but we'll see what happens.
