Hello everyone!

So really I'm doing this in the wrong order, but I figured I'd throw it out there.

I've been lurking in these forums on and off for a while as I've been in the market for a diamond for my wife (we're common law, but haven't done the ring or formal wedding thing yet).

I received my tax return a couple weeks ago and really ratcheted up my search for a diamond. I had been pretty set on going with Whiteflash, but I when I got back on the forums a week ago, I found out that Brian Gavin had left!

When I found his new blog, he had a list of some Brian Gavin Signature diamonds for sale. One of them caught my eye. I was able to see it in Houston, and committed to buy it!

Brian is also going to make the setting for me. I'll be sure to post pictures when they are ready.

What I need now is some support from the community! The diamond was within the budget I set for myself (a very good price actually I think), but DAMN! I've never laid this much cash out at one time for ANYTHING! I put less down on my house

.

I know that Brian and Lesley will treat me right, but I'd like a frank analysis of the diamond's stats anyway from the community.

Hi Magnus, welcome to Pricescope.

No worries on the diamond, it will be a beautiful stone. Can''t wait to see pics of the finished ring.

What a dazzler! You won''t have a problem with the diamond unless you think you might need a pair of sunglasses for it.

EDIT! Ack, my first post and I screw up the subject line. I can''t figure out how to fix it either, oh well.
At least you got people''s attentions. Nice stone btw.

Smashing!

WOW. Everything you have shared makes that stone look like a winner!! I love the size color etc. What setting are you going with?

We''re still working on the setting.

I''ve attached the annotated image I sent to Brian and Leslie for the concept.

I should be getting a CAD in the next week or so.

The stone is a winner and the notes on the setting are fabulous! I like the details about the Tacori that you guys have chosen - I''m sure Brian will do an excellent job with execution of the mounting!

This ring is sure to be a crowd pleaser!! Can''t wait to see CAD images!

I forgot to mention how impressed I was with Brian himself.

He took the time to sit down with me for a couple of hours to discuss the ins and outs of high performance diamond buying.

He also gave me some tips on lighting conditions for the proposal.

All in all, I was blown away with the attention I received pre-sale.

No surprise here, but we''re used to hearing stories like this.

The stone will be gorgeous, no doubt! (In fact, if you look in my avatar, it will look very much like mine!
