After I got my OEC, I knew I wanted an antique pear. Ilya put one on ebay while I had a deposit on another one. He let me switch to this one. Specs:
GIA 1.59 carat (8.81-7.06mm)
K color
Medium blue Flor
S1I
Once I saw it, I knew I would be content just holding on to it until I found the perfect setting for it. I searched pear settings all day long. I didn’t find anything I liked. I went back and forth between sending it straight to VC for an anne marie and having Caysie create a one of a kind vintage repro setting. I went back and forth on split shank. I went back and forth on skipping a halo but I HATE tip prongs on pears and marquis.
Then Caysie sent me this inspiration pic:
I LOVED it. She suggested just doing the outer halo and sent me this sketch:
Original CAD’s:
I am not a fan of airlines, so I asked to take the airline out and to add a cuff. Revised CAD:
