my Amazing Brian Gavin EC diamond is done!

Hi All,
It has been a few months since I''ve been here. I wanted to post the pictures (if I can do it!) of my new ring.It took awhile for the finished product. Brian did the recut and my local jeweler worked with me on the new setting.The only reason I didn''t get the setting from Brian is that I just found it too difficult and stressful (for me, not Brian) to do it over the internet. I could not be happier with the way it all turned out but it wouldn''t have happened w/o Brian''s magic and his (and Leslie''s) patience and exper tice. They were every bit as wonderful to work with as other members have already posted about them.I hope to have them make an eternity band for me one day. Here are (I hope) some before and after pictures. Enjoy, and thanks to everyone who was so kind and helpful in steering me in the right direction for my ring makeover

I''m going to try one more time tonight. If it doesn''t work, I will try again tomorrow. The recut changed the diamond from a 1.73 carat (8.65 x 6.06 x 3.57 mm) J color, VS2 ,good polish and good symm., to a 1.56ct. (8.03 x 6.06 x 3.57 mm) H color (yep,that''s right!) VS1, VG polish and good Symm. It has sparkle, fire and personality that was lacking in the old cut and I absolutely love it. The new setting incorporates my old side baguettes , is done in platinum and I feel like I need a bodyguard every time I wear it!

O.K. I''m gonna TTA one more time. You know the saying about how "insanity is repeating the same steps and expecting different results"? Well, I tried something different so I hope I''m not (so) crazy afterall.

The picture I''m adding is not from my jeweler so it isn''t amazingly clear but I think it does show off the new cut pretty well. It''s shown with one of my eternity bands.I''m so happy with the recut and the new setting.Every time I look at my ring, I just can''t believe it''s mine.

I think I smudged the diamond. Where''s one of those little alcohol wipes when you need one? Anyway, I hope y''all like the picture and thanks to all who posted about it. Everyone here is soooo nice. I don''t often post but I do visit often and I love reading about all your experiences and looking at your gorgeous jewelry.
