Does anyone have a list of songs to play at the reception? I have searched out a few sites for some ideas, but wondered if anyone has made up their own list and would like to share, or knows of a good site for music suggestions? I am meeting with the band i have hired very soon and want to see what their list looks like compared to mine. We are also having some recorded music so i can have a diverse range of tunes...

Thanks everyone

I would love to see an answer to this too, I know it seems silly but I have been agonizing over what type of songs to play --

I have not even begun to make my own list but I have some magazine made lists.
Here are some categories:
First Dance
Father/Daughter dance
Mother/son dance
Bridal party dances
Cutting the Cake
Garter/Bouquet Toss
Last Dance

I can post the songs in any/all of these categories if you want.

I'll share!

Let me preface this by saying that I'm in my mid-30's, in case my selections seem "dated", and I'm Hispanic- so that explains the latin music.

I hope this cuts & pastes properly:

WEDDING DINNER:
Grow Old With You Adam Sandler
It's Five O'Clock Somewhere Alan Jackson & Jimmy Buffett
Por Ti Volaré Andrea Bocelli
Can't Get Enough of Your Love, Babe Barry White
Slave to Love Bryan Ferry
Ain't That a Kick in the Head Dean Martin
Makin' Whoopee Dr. John Feat. Rickie Lee Jones
The Best Is Yet To Come Frank Sinatra
That's Amore The Gaylords
Volare Gipsy Kings
Somewhere Over the Rainbow Israel Kamakawiwo'ole
Better Together Jack Johnson
Super Duper Love Joss Stone
I Belong To You Lenny Kravitz
I Melt With You Modern English
Unwritten Natasha Bedingfield
In Your Eyes Peter Gabriel
Kiss Of Life Sade
Love Of My Life Santana
Beautiful Day U2
Red Red Wine UB40

Edited to add: The dance floor at our wedding was almost always packed! I really worked at putting a music list together that really reflected US & our guests (30-ish, and happy party people!) and wasn't too obscure. That's the secret to hosting a good event.

chargergirl--thanks!! i am going look over that list for sure--funny how while i was at several weddings this past summer i took ''mental notes'' about what songs people did/did not dance to--appears i should have taken pen and paper notes instead b/c i can''t remember a single one
