Has anyone ever purchased any items from this ebay vendor?

I am considering purchasing a sapphire and diamond ring from him...all of his feedback is positive and I''ve been looking at his stuff for a long time...

That having been said, I know how shady purchasing a ring on ebay can be. Just wondering.

Thanks!

Hi there. This is my first post. I actually purchased a diamond from Mr. Jewel, but I sent it back immediately because the specs were completely off (this was before I discovered Pricescope). Mr. Jewel did adhere to his return policy, so I sent him positive feedback. I hope this helps. Good Luck.

If I were you, I'd search ebay on this forum. There are some major horror stories. My experience is that ebay is a great place to buy less expensive items, like a Tommy Bahama shirt, or a plate or saucer, but Jewelry???? From the stories I've seen, I would absolutely positively not buy an expensive item.

FSULaw already commented that this vendor did not send the quality that was promised. At least they got their money back. And don't believe that postive feedback provides the credibility to buy with confidence.

It's your money, and you do what you're comfortable with, but I would not consider a major purchase on ebay. Period.

Good Luck.

Thanks for the responses.

Rod - I''m aware of the problems the PS members have had with Ebay...I was just wondering if anyone had dealt with Mr. Jewel in particular.

-Thanks again

I just purchaced a very large 3.15 carat round diamond from a private party off of Ebay and it was a perfect transaction. I covered myself by using an escrow company to act as a mediator in the transaction. I used www.escrow.com. Check his feedback and make sure he has been selling for a few years and read all the feedback to make sure he is selling nice jewelry and not 1.00 items to build his feedback. See what kind of return policy it offers and only pay with a credit card through Paypal to assure some recourse if you don''t use an escrow company.

Good luck!!
