Hi everyone!

I have a bit of a problem. You see, my good friend in Thailand owns a great / uber upscale jewelry shop and I asked her to remake my e-ring setting for me. More bling, a little more intricate, and overall WOW.

She''ll be sending me the setting (I''m in the US) and my job is to now find a GREAT jeweler to mount it. I am incredibly scared about this part because I don''t want any mistakes.

My current setting right now is great, but up close (REALLY up close) the stone is set a little crooked - so I am NOT going there again. The jeweler who made my ring the first time around was a regular/not so fancy jeweler and the custom job was quite cheap - hence the results I guess....

So now, I have to find a top notch jeweler, in Chicago or in Michigan (close to Ann Arbor) to mount my stone.

Any recommendations? Thanks so much!

The jeweler I use to set my colored stones is Windy City Jewelers, on Jewelers Row. They're one of the best jewelry stores in the city.

I have also had stones set by Steve Quick Jewelers in Lincoln Park, who are great as well. I prefer Windy City because they're closer to me (LP is a hike for me) and they do their setting jobs on site, whereas Steve Quick sends out their setting jobs.

I also really like Dimend Scaasi for quality of diamonds and settings, but I've never had anything set by them.

Hope that helps!

ETA: These are all in Chicago

I do not know of any jewelers near Ann Arbor, but there is a GREAT store called "Miner''s Den" in Royal Oak Michigan. They have been voted Michigan''s #1 jewelery store by Hour magazine... Great craftsmanship and friendly customer service!

Contact Jonathan Klempt at www.welladorned.com Jonathan is in Chicago and also posts here.

Thank you so so much! I''ll definetly look into all these options!

You might also try Pearlman''s, located in Battle Creek, which I understand to be about 45 minutes from Ann Arbor. They have many excellent reviews on this site.
