Can you post pictures of your mother''s dress for the wedding? My mom is still trying to find one. Also, since the bridesmaids are wearing blue velvet and the groomsmen are wearing blue velvet and white should the mothers try to wear a similar color.

We are having a not-so-formal wedding and my mom wanted something youthful. She bought one outfit and decided it was "too hot" - ha

Attached is her current dress-du-jour. I love it - I hope she sticks to this one. She''s getting a seamstress to alter it this coming weekend, so hopefully, she''ll be through with "browsing" ...

I forgot to say - my BM''s are wearing black dresses. I could care less what colors my mom or FI''s mom wears....As long as they love the dress, i don''t care if it "clashes" - ha!

I didn''t want my mom to try to match herself to the tablecloths either. I wanted her to feel gorgeous!

She wore a black Valentino gown to the first dinner, which was similar to this one (I don''t have any pics yet!) and this Nicole Miller gown (that''s her in it) to the second part of the wedding.

The most important thing is not matchy-ness, but happiness! So tell the moms to wear what makes them feel most beautiful. So long as, you know, they aren''t embarssing themselves. In which case, I''d say something IF you would normally say something (like "Mom, that dress isn''t really flattering")

my mom is wearing this gorgeous gown from jessica mcclintock. the color it''s in is called pewter and is a really gorgeous rich purplish grey color (it doesn''t look the same on the website). it''s perfect because it''s elegant without looking to young or too matronly

i should probably attach the dress

Here''s my mom''s dress. She had it shortened to right at the knee. It looks really cute on her and the coral and yellow flowers will really stand out against the brown.

What a stylish mother you have! Its youthful, but also very classy! I love it! Okay I''ll stop yelling at you now.... !

Wow, you ladies have very stylish moms. Those dresses are gorgeous. My mom said she has a dress but won''t tell me what it looks like. She won''t even tell me what color it is. I''m a little nervous!!

Cleopatra - that''s so funny... the dress your mom is wearing is the same one I bought for my rehearsal dinner to wear next week. I love it and the color is so gorgeous. You guys both have great taste if I do say so myself.

Thanks ladies - she''ll be so excited to hear that my PS folks approve! All I know is that she ordered the dress from Nordstrom''s - it may still be online as she purchased maybe 2 months ago. Sorry I can''t be of more help! But I do know that it was pretty affordable at only $130!

Oh how funny! It really is a beautiful dress! Very flattering on many body types!

Here is the first suit my mom picked out, which I bought and it didn''t fit her, so I passed it along to my FMIL, who loved it!

Here is the second suit my mother chose, which I also bought and actually fits her, but now she is complaining that it is too formal for a Maui wedding. She said she would rather wear a mumu...

I told her to wear whatever she wants, but that I''m not buying her anymore dang dresses!

And yes, my mother''s and MIL''s suits are almost identical aside from color...isn''t that, umm, just great???

This is the dress my mom will be wearing. I love it on her! We found it together on Nordstrom''s website, and while I wasn''t too keen on the color, I love how it looks on her, so that makes it perfect!

Hmmm...let''s try that again...
