I thought I would start a new thread for you my dear. DH and I are *really* happy in area 5. We don''t know that much about the school systems but since this is a wealthier area I am guessing they are good

Here is the public school system''s website. I wish I could help you more on that. It will be quite a few years before we have to worry about the schools.

Have you found any houses you like? If the contract goes through will you be moving soon? (30 day close?)

Oh ! Hi! :) I missed this :)

Haven't been back to look....we have several offers on the place and are negotiating...our original one had cold feet...and now Realtor is pissing me off...telling us to take a low offer b/c her commish only goes up a few hundred dollars if we get what we want...grrr...and hubby is the weakest link hahahaha....

So we'll probably go back down in a month or so after we're in contract...thanks for the info about the schools....I'll have to do some research one of these days!!!!

You're such a big help! thanks!

What a snotty thing to say!!! It should be about the best deal for you and your DH not her. if you aren''t in a hurry to sell you should stick to your guns! Let me know if you have any other questions. Good luck!

Just wanted to add that something similar happened when my parents sold their last home. My mother stuck to her guns and got her FULL asking price after being told repeatedly that it was ''unreasonable and impossible'' buy her cruddy realtor. I''d stick to your guns for a while. My step dad was the week link too, but my momma''s made of steel. And she got exactly what she wanted, by staging her house (her realtor was like: it won''t make a difference no one is going to buy with your asking price) and following the advice of shows like Designed to Selll in terms of de-personalizing it. Really worked.

I agree with the "stick to her guns" logic. It worked really well for my mom too. Back in 1988 when she was selling, she called 3 different realtors, got estimates from each; then she told them what she wanted for it and to let her know when a client was willing to offer her asking price and not a penny less. She didn''t have to wait very long at all, and she got her full asking price.
