I'm not sure if this is the place to put this, but I have a question about an old setting. My aunt recently gave me an old rose gold (I'm assuming it's real, it is stamped) belcher style setting. I don't have a stone that I can currently put in it. If I wanted to melt this down and create a new ring with it, would a jeweler be able to do this? I was thinking of either making a band or making a setting for an oval diamond I recently picked up for a steal on eBay. Thoughts on how expensive this might be? I'm assuming I would need a local jeweler to do it and PS jewelers don't really do this type of work. Any info would be appreciated!! :twirl:

I know that Etsy vendor Raven's Refuge will use customer's gold to make into a new ring - here's a listing - http://www.etsy.com/listing/94359990/custom-wedding-band-stacking-ring-using - and here's a photo of a ring they made for someone who panned the gold in Alaska - http://www.flickr.com/photos/ravensrefuge/6242005902/in/photostream. They made me a beautiful three-stone colored gemstone ring (but with their metal!) and I know they've made rings for other PSers too - I recommend them highly and without reservation.
