I'm not sure if this is the place to put this, but I have a question about an old setting. My aunt recently gave me an old rose gold (I'm assuming it's real, it is stamped) belcher style setting. I don't have a stone that I can currently put in it. If I wanted to melt this down and create a new ring with it, would a jeweler be able to do this? I was thinking of either making a band or making a setting for an oval diamond I recently picked up for a steal on eBay. Thoughts on how expensive this might be? I'm assuming I would need a local jeweler to do it and PS jewelers don't really do this type of work. Any info would be appreciated!!
