Okay so I've got it squared away that we are going with WhiteFlash custom making us my wedding ring....I want something like the shared prong that I tried on at the Joe Escobar store which was something like 2mm wide, .66c with 33 .02c stones.
I was surfing around the DeBeers photo gallery and found this design which is by Atomic...this first picture is 1ctw and 3mm wide, which means that there may be something like 33 .03c stones. So slightly larger than the one I am thinking of. The picture is beautiful though I want less metal in terms of prongage.
Confusion.
Then I see the next picture which is a 2.70c same style Atomic ring, but it's still 3mm. What? So now we're talking something like maybe 25 .11c stones or around there...can I just say wow? On a 3mm ring? WOW. That is going to be ALL diamond. How are those babies supported on such a thin mm ring?
So now my question is...I wonder if I could do something more like the 1ctw but on a 2.5mm? Would that be safe for the stones or not enough metal to hold them in the shared prong style? Hmmm..all these diamond pictures are going to my head.
