Ladies, let me know what you think

Dress #1: La Sposa - Mariscol

This dress had straps, but I would have them make it into a sweetheart neckline, with some polka dot tule ruffling sticking out. Just like in the Pronovias (#2)

From the side it make m look like I have a pooch (a bulldog, maybe

), but they said they could put in boning so that my tummy will look flat.

Dress #2: Pronovias - Diagonal

It has the tulle sticking out from the neckline.

Dress #3: Manuel Mota (Not sure of the style #) It''s covered in polka dots.

Dress #4: Manuel Mota (style unknown).

Thanks for looking ladies!

I like the first one the most. The second to last one''s top looks nice on your shape, but in general I am not crazy about the bottom. Are you in love with any of them?

I vote for the pronovias!!! the pictures are kinda hard to see though, the manuel motas are interesting, but I can''t see them very well.

Which one did you like the best??

Dress No. 4!!!!!!!!! Do you have more pics? I love the front. It's so different! The back of it looks gorgeous too!!

Dear...personally, I think all those dresses have WAY too much going on to be flattering on anyone. It''s like 6 strong different dress aspects smushed together onto one dress, and those dresses are wearing you, instead of you wearing the dress. IMO, I think you should pick out the two most important design aspects of those dresses (for example: swiss dot fabric, mermaid style, sweetheart neckline, etc.) and try to find some dresses that are made of mainly one or two elements that you love. I think you''d probably look lovely in a mermaid gown that simply had gorgeous satin or silk fabric, with the crossover draping, but without all the other frou frou elements...Just try it and see how it looks...

I agree with surfgirl, they are all a bit overwhelming, especially in the bust area. I think you could find something to accent your beautiful curves without overemphasizing certain areas.

I agree with SG too. The dresses you picked seem a bit too busy. You would suit something with maybe one strong design element to it instead of lots.

Pronovias #2 all the way!!!!!! You look like a dream in that. I so wish I could pull something like that off. OMG I think that''s such a gorgeous dress.

Second choice would be the Manuel Mota #3...not sure though. Do you have a further away shot from eye level? It may look a little too "cotton candy fluffy" at the bottom.

But I love the dresses you picked out because they''re so sassy!!!! Unique, extravagant, flamboyant, sexy. Let us know what you decide!

I don''t know what happened to my post, but I agree with surfgirl...

You have such a beautiful body, and my attention went directly from that fact to the busy-ness of the frilly top. I think that these dresses take the eyes away from your drop dead curves.

I think you are on the right track, but have maybe one or two stops until your final destination.

ditto surfgirl and Maisie. You have a great body and none of these dresses are showing it off the way they should.

brooklyngirl, I totally gravitate towards simple and subtle, but I don't think there's anything inherently wrong with these dresses if you like them. It is still a good idea to try something completely opposite to these just to see how you feel. I know with my dress, the only reason I tried it on was because my mom, sister, and aunt insisted on it. I ended up loving it. So if these are the styles you normally gravitate to, go the other way and try simpler ones, you may surprise yourself.

As far as the ones you tried on, I like the Manuel Mota on you the best (damn I can't see the pics in the preview so I'll come back and edit which of the Manuel Motas I'm referring to).

You still haven't told us how you feel about the dresses though. Do you like any of them enough to think they may be "it"?

ETA: I really like the MM #3. I think it's different, pretty, I like it.

Thanks for the replies ladies,

Sarah, I like dress #1 and dress#2 while trying them on at the store, but now that I look at the pictures, I can''t say I love any of them

karasue, I liked dress#1 and dress #2 the best. But now, looking at the pictures, I can''t say I so thrilled about any of them

Loves Vintage, that is the best picture of the dress that I have. It''s definitely unique, but since it''s a Manuel Mota, it''s probably way out of my price range (3k tops).

Surfgirl, I think you''ve articulated what my problem is with all of these dresses. There is a whole lot going on on all of these. I think what I really want is a simple satin/silk (not the papery kind) dropped waist trumpet or ballgown with some detailing here and there. I was really liked NewEnglandLady''s dress. Ideally I want to find a style like that without the beading on the top.

Sabine, Maisie thanks! I will try to find something a bit simpler. I just saw this Anjolique dress, and it looks gorgeous! I will try to find a salon that carries it. http://www.anjolique.com/ourcollection/largeview.aspx?id=384&section=Bridal&page=8

Okay well I have to agree with surfgirl then!! I didn''t want to hurt your feelings or anything, but I think you are beautiful and have a beautiful body and need something to show it off! If you want something closer to the body, then I''d go with the mermaid style (think that was said by surfgirl).

This kind of shape Not the dress of course because that''s not what you''re looking for, but I think the shape would look great on you. I like the Anjolique one! It still has detail on the bottom, but not too much.

What about this dress? It''s the one on the first page of the site God I love that dress just had to share it.

This could work

Or this

Hope that helps some! :)

BKLYN, NEL''s dress is exactly what I had in mind...the shape you obviously love - and that shows off your curves fabulously - but the "embellishment" is in the drape of the gorgeous fabric and how it sweeps diagonally across the waist, emphasizing your curves in all the right places. That sort of dress would make YOU look stunning and people''s first thought probably wouldn''t be "look at that dress", but rather, "wow! Look at how beautiful she looks!" Isn''t that what you want people to see on your wedding day? YOU first? I think you''re on the right track...!

CrownJewel, thanks for the response, and the complements

. I am still very much on the fence about any of those. I guess I don''t feel like any of them are "the one", so the search continues.

miraclesrule, bee*, thank you for your honest opinons, and the encouragement. Definitely must keep looking.

claudinam, I can''t really say any of those are the one. I felt pretty good in the first two at the salon, but looking at the pictures, they don''t do it for me anymore, and I guess they weren''t doing it for me during try on either. I keep thinking I want something simpler made of silk, without all the tulle.

Sarah, the lazaro dresses you posted are beautiful!
19.gif
I really love the second and third ones that you posted. I wonder if they could be ordered without some of the embroidery. The back of second one you posted is to die for
30.gif
. I must now go try those on! Oh, and please don''t worry about hurting my feelings. One of the reasons I love this site is because people are so honest and supportive. After all, if I look like a dog in my dress, I would hope someone would tell me!

surfgirl, thank you so much for your honest opinions, and steering me in the right direction. And yes, you''re right, I do wand people to see me, then the dress.

Sounds like you know which direction you want to go in. Sometimes it takes knowing what you DON''T want first. Post the "new" dresses so we can see them!

that anjolique dress that you posted is beautiful

I adore anjolique 930. I can''t wait to try it on.

Okay, this may not be what you are looking for, but I think its pretty simple in the front, and the back is to die for! I did try it on, just for the back...totally doesn''t work on my body type, but wow, was it gorgeous!

Not #4.... I haven''t even seen it in person and already I have the urge to walk up to you and start picking at the ruffles HAHAHA

Amandine, the back of that dress is gorgeous!

Legacy, ROTFLMAO! I could just picture guests coming up to me at the wedding, messing with the ruffles
