Moms- ceremony

I am a little confused as to what I should do for our ceremony. I want to do something between my fiance and me, such as sand ceremony, or unity candle. The only problem is it could be windy so unity candle may not work.

Second idea- We would like to include our moms somehow in our ceremony. Either candle, sand, etc... I am not sure of other ideas on how to include them.

Has anyone seen weddings where the bride and groom did their own symbolic thing, but also included the moms in some way? I need ideas!

present both moms with flowers (bouquets, a single rose, etc.)? we plan to do that after we exchange rings.
