I currently live in the Puget Sound area of Washington and just purchased a Moissanite ring from ShopNBC. I took the ring to Jarred Jewelers to have the ring sized down one size and was told that they would not size the ring because since it was not a natural diamond that when they applied the heat to the setting of the rinf that the stone in the ring would be damaged permanently. I was sold on Moissanite because of it look and durability but if it can not stand up to a simple ring sizing, then I am a little suspect.

Does anyone out there have any infopr that may be helpful. Thanks.

Reactions ~

* Ultrasonic ~ Usually Safe
* Steamer ~ Usually Safe
* Chemicals ~ None
* Heat ~ Color Change, but will revert to original color after cooling. May cause
damage under extreme temperatures (working with platinum)

A good goldsmith can work around this.
