So...I have been coveting all the beauties on here and honestly wishing that I could change up my YG and diamond wedding band, but that's not going to happen...so my question to you is, what if my ER was platinum and my WB was YG and maybe I stacked a small two tone and a platinum band in there or something? Or would that just be too much? I do wear a lot of YG. My 5 carat tennis bracelet is YG, my very nice watch that I wear every day is two tone Stainless and YG...my solitaire stud earrings are YG but very delicate setting so you can't really tell...

Dang, I just love all these platinum and WG settings and how crisp and clean they look!

I personally am liking the mixed metal look these days! I am planing on getting a rose gold pave stacking ring to go with my platinum ER.
If you wanted to mix it up could you also wear your YG band on your right hand and just keep platinum on your left hand?

I am pretty much always wearing a mix of metals. My platinum ER is either paired with a rose gold diamond eternity and thin rose gold spacer or it's paired with a yellow diamond eternity set in yellow gold and a pink diamond eternity set in pink gold.
You really need to try things out to determine what you like.

No. The WB stays on the left hand. :-)

My set is a mixed metal set.

White gold wedding band with a trinity ring.

I think if your wb is yellow, your e ring is white, and you wear a white and yellow band in between you could absolutely mix and ir would look great.

I prefer it actually. I find it a little boring when all you see is a stack of yellow gold or a stack of silver (plat/white gold). The diamonds sparkle, sure, but I like it a bit more interesting :)

I only wear white metals, and have not thought about mixing white gold and platinum in the same setting as I do not see the point except to lower the cost perhaps.

I do believe she means mix metals in a set, not necessarily the e ring setting.

Oops, got you!

When I was married, I wore a 18k WG 3-stone EC ring with a platinum wedding band together.

Since I got myself an EC for a RHR in 2004, I used to wear a 2mm plain titanium band together with the EC in its old platinum setting as I did not like wearing the EC on its own as the shank was too narrow for my liking.

However, I have now re-set the EC in its new forever home, and shall be wearing it on its own from now on.

I doubt if I would mix metal in a set again, as the chance of me getting hitch again is about the same odds as winning the lottery!

DK :))
