I am so frustrated with the fact that a certain well known jewelry designer will not make my ring because i already purchased my diamond and did not purchase your diamond through them! Grrr. They make the most amazing pieces and I found the perfect setting, but they won't do it because I already own my OEC. :angryfire: :angryfire: :angryfire:

Ok, so my rant is over. Does anyone have an ideas for a bezel setting? Originally I was thinking of doing a prong set solitaire, but then I was thinking of maybe getting a bezel for my 1.79 OEC because I want to protect the diamond, but I don't want just a plain bezel.

I saved this semi/bezel setting for the longest time, I thought it was very interesting. Though I don't know what kind of bezel you are thinking of? antiquey with milgrain? or more modern? What a bummer on the designer you were hoping to use :(sad there is one jeweler that I would have loved to work because well I like their stuff but they won't work with me because I have my own stones too... :nono:

There are many good jewelers out there who accept customer's stones. If you let us know the style you are after, i.e., contemporary vs. antique-ish, open vs. closed gallery, etc, perhaps we could suggest a few jewelers.

D&T, isn't it frustrating that we can't get the piece we love be abuse we have our diamonds?! I think that is a really interesting semibezel! I am not sure if I want modern or antique, I appreciate and like both. I love the jbeg three stone bezel that pixies got...though I would probably have to do sapphires or something since I do not have two more OECs for side stones. If I did that I could wear it as a stand alone piece, which would be great.

Cookie, I think I mostly lean towards antiquestulebexelsfor my OEC, but I am open to gorgeous modern pieces as well. I like the idea of an open gallery. I also like the possibility of having it as a stand alone ring if it gives good finger coverage.

It's helpful to know you like open gallery. I'd like to recommend a few jewelers who I've dealt with before and who accept customer's stones (besides JbEG):

Leon Mege
His settings are on the contemporary side. He recently made a millegrained bezel setting for my stone. The wire gallery he designed is open, delicate, and beautiful.

Victor Canera
I think his settings are also on the contemporary side. I got a bangle and a band from him before. Great craftsmanship. He should be able to make an open and pretty gallery for you, and perhaps add his magic engraving so the ring gets the vintage look.

McTeigue & McClelland
Their work is amazing, kind of in between vintage and contemporary (I think). Walter McTeigue is one of the nicest and most helpful people I've ever contacted in the jewelry industry. I haven't done any project with them yet, but that's mainly due to my budget constraint..

Van Craeynest
They do incredible old-world settings. There is a PS thread dedicated to showing VC rings. Larry Van Craeynest will be the person to talk to about the design, the cost, etc.

Thanks, Cookie! I looooooove you bangle, btw

I am curious .. who wouldn't take your stone?
