Hello everyone! I wanted to get your thoughts on something.....My boyfriend and I recently went to a local jewelry exchange so that he could get an idea of the type of setting I would like. I like antique style settings...I found one there that I absolutely LOVE. It''s alittle difficult to explain, but it had alot of metal work(if that''s what you call it?), it had millgrain detail....anyway, the setting was in 18K white gold, I really want platinum. So when I asked they could make it in platinum, the jeweler told me that you should never get an antique type setting in platinum because of its tendency to scratch. He said that over time it would ruin the design of the ring.....is this true?
I found a ring on whiteflash with similar design, although it was a prong setting, with 1 small emerald on each side and then the rounds around the rest of the band....
