Could someone please clarify for me if milgrain is engraved out of the CAD molded shape, or if it is added after the fact. I have a been presented a ring design that I am told is "domed/ rounded to facilitate adding the milgrain detail by hand engraving, after the ring is in metal" but I always thought the milgrain was an addition to the metal added afterward and am having problems visualizing the ring in it''s current presentation.
