Migrant Children Held in Vans For 39 Hours Waiting Reunification

Indeed. It's hard to believe a country of our wealth and stature doesn't have universal health care for all of its citizens. Shameful. It's no wonder life expectancy is below that of UK and Canada and dropping.
Yup, shameful alright. Tax our citizens to pay for the illegals. Illegals receive better treatments than our own citizens.

Where do you get your information? There is no special healthcare policy for undocumented people that citizens don’t have. Are you confusing citizens with people who have been granted asylum?

He is PS’s original Trump: don’t let facts get in the way of what you feel to be true in your racist heart. :)

But your claim was that citizens can’t get the healthcare that undocumented people can. Your proof is the exact opposite of that. It’s the care that citizens CAN get.

You do know that many illegal immigrants are those that came here legally and just never left and the majority of undocumented immigrants have been living here for over a decade. But al of a sudden this is an emergency.

Those living in the country illegally also have increasingly been here for 10 years or more. DHS says nearly 80 percent in 2015 have lived in the U.S. for more than a decade, and only 6 percent came to the country over the previous five years.

As border apprehensions have declined, estimates show a growing proportion of the undocumented population legally entered the country on visas but overstayed the time limits on those visas. A Center for Migration Studies report estimates that 44 percent of those in living in the U.S. illegally in 2015 were visa overstays. That’s up from an estimated 41 percent in 2008.

There’s no official measure of how many people succeed in illegally crossing the border, but authorities use the number of apprehensions to gauge changes in illegal immigration. Apprehensions on the Southwest border peaked in 2000 at 1.64 million and have generally declined since, totaling 396,579 in 2018.

I don't agree that just because the numbers are less than previously that it is not a problem. It has been a problem for decades that no one of any party has done anything about. Nearly 400,000 apprehensions a year at the border is a problem.

I agree with you, but it's not the emergency that it is being portrayed as by the White house. It has been going on for decades and to some degree probably always will.

It kind of is an emergency if you may have only 4 years as president to actually do something about it when no one else has. It hasn't been enough of an emergency to anyone else in that office or in Congress.
