Hi All!
Asking about a long-term project I've got in mind, thinking of doing a micropave/pearl earring project. I'd like to source the pearls myself and will go to the Pearl forum for that, but was hoping to create an earring similar to the small picture I have attached. I am thinking gold...huggies? is that what they're called?
... with some micropave on them. I would think this style would be pretty easy to find, but having some issues since 1.) I actually haven't come across any with the exact proportions I want, 2.) Mikimoto's design (also attached) is like $9K with the huggie not as wide as I'd like, and 3.) I found through my e-ring project on here (thanks again guys!) that I enjoy custom projects
.
That said, does anyone know a good jeweler (ideally in Los Angeles) who works with pearls and can do this style? In particular, any of you who have been to Victor Canera's shop know if he works with pearls? I don't want to bother him for a quote if he doesn't even work with them, and I'm not even sure if this project is worthy of his time since it would probably pale in comparison to his Emilya requests...he probably charges premium for his master skills too (and understandably so), so any other recommendations in the Los Angeles area would be great. Thought of Victor due to his being local plus seeing a lot of really mediocre pave work in the LA diamond district, and I'd like for this to be a family heirloom so perhaps going with quality to stand the test of time is the answer...but would love your suggestions first.
Thanks again for your time!
