Metal type for halo?

I am in the works with WF for a custom halo but I am unsure of what metal to pick. I really want platinum but since the ring is mostly pave anyway is it better to go with White gold instead? I was also thinking if I did go with WG which grade, 14 or 18?

I already have a white gold ring in 18 and it has yellowed a lot in 2 years but I have a 14 white gold and it seems to be holding up well.

This is my inspiration the RB one Also there is a matching wedding band that curves to the shape of the ring but for halos do you think that adds too much bulk? Which would look nicer a curved wedding band or a straight one?:

I have a 14k white gold halo ring from Whiteflash. I have had it around 3 months now and its still white. No yellowing at all. I went with gold for financial reasons. I am glad I didn't spend on Platinum as I am about to put my diamond in a simpler setting. I find it to be too blingy for everyday use.

Whiteflash do lovely custom work. I am sure your ring will look fabulous when its finished.

I think WF has 14kt as default for gold halos. I think the ring is very substantial...wedding band optional.

Leslie at WF indicated that they prefer to work in 18k, but I am leaning towards 14K for my custom WF halo.

Did they say why they prefer 18 carat? Is it because it is more forgiving (moldable)?
