I am currently in love with the Ritani Endles Love Halo ring. I came across this one that is very similar, but the stones in the halo and on the band are larger, so it gives the overall ring a larger look w/ the same size ceter stone. I am tall and have long fingers and my mom keeps telling me to look at bigger rings. I like this style, but want your opinion on a few things:

1. Do you know anything about the crafsmanship of Mercury?

2. Do you think the metal around the bezel takes away from or adds to the look of the ring?

3. If I chose this setting b/c of the size fo the stones in the halo, do you think a jeweler could make the metal btwn the bezel and halo less apparant if I decide to do that?

4. do you have any other suggestions of ideas??

Thanks!!

Here is the Ritani for comparison

One thing I noticed about the mercury ring is that it uses it looks like 1pt stones, ritani uses 1/2 points, the shank and the halo might not be as delicate as the ritani, that is a big issue for me, if its not for you then I say go for it.

Yes, you are correct, the side stones and halo stones are bigger than the ritani ring which makes it less delicate.

This particular style does not have a basket setting however, I tried it on last night and it has a low profile, very much like the ritani.

I think I need to try it on again. It do like the size, but am not sure ablut all the emtal that shows around the center stone. Do you think that is something I can chagne? The lady at the Shano Co said no, but maybe she does not really know...

i''ve never heard of mercury rings so I can''t comment about the quality. I guess you just have to decide which you like better on your hand, the bigger ring or the daintier Ritani.

I prefer the delicacy of the Ritani, as well as the smaller melee. I think halos dont really work unless the proportions of melee to center stone are just right. If the melee is too large it looks awkward to my eye. The Ritani seems to have a better ratio for my tastes because the melee is smaller and more delicate. I also prefer that thinner bezel on the Ritani, for what it''s worth!

I really like a prong set halo myself, Adwar makes a cast setting that have 1/2 pt melee and it is about the width of the ritani ring. I am having it made for me by Whiteflash using ACA melee and the price is super reasonable. It comes in 14k, 18k, palladium and platinum and everyone can vouch for wf work and wf has vouched for the quality of adwar so I feel pretty confident.

Hi there!! I''ll give you my own opinion...since you asked

I love the daintyness of the Ritani as well, but (as a fellow halo''er) I also know that sometimes these look ''lost'' on larger/longer fingers. The other notable difference is that Ritani''s is somewhat feminine, while the Mercury is a bit more ''modern'' and substantial. Which look do you prefer and which would suit you better?

Second thing relates to what I highlighted above. I really wouldn''t tinker with the Mercury bezel. I think it it in perfect harmony with the outer ''bezel'' or lip (which term) and also with the thickness of the shank. I wouldn''t change the bezel as it may throw off the balance of the whole design.

IMO, you should love a ring setting ''as is'' and not be looking to change it from the get-go.

GL deciding! These are the good desicions in life
