Are you doing anything special to celebrate this long weekend?

As far as I know, we are doing a fun family picnic on Sunday, possibly a little shopping for house stuff, but mainly we plan to just work on our house and yard. What are your plans?

I'm taking the first part of the CPA exam on Tuesday so I will be spending the next four days holed up with my materials... ;(

Everyone please play a game of horshoes and have an extra beer and a brat for me!

I finally have a chance to say I'm actually doing something :cheeky: We're going to a South Carolina beach for a long weekend - short, but it will be nice to get away for at least a few days!

Forgot it's Memorial Day! I'll be home as always but maybe to celebrate, I'll buy a movie on cable and order take out! (assuming something's open that day)

There is bound to be something open..but maybe eat it outside and enjoy the sun :)

DH and I are going out on a date and seeing Fast and Furious 6. What can I say, I'm a huge sucker for Vin Diesel and Paul Walker! :naughty: :naughty:

I plan to go to the Devon Horse Show if the weather isn't stifling.

Camping. Group decided to move to warmer camp site -- yay!

My brother will be staying to watch our house and take care of animals.

My weekend does not sound as fun as everyone else's, but it will be nice. There will be lots of time spent playing with our 2 year old little girl, H, and cooking out with my family. But mostly, I am going to try to get caught up on odd jobs around the house and preparing for the impending arrival of baby #2. I also have to get things in order for my hubby coming home for a month from Korea to be here for the birth. :appl:

Unfortunately this is a busy holiday weekend at work so that's where you'll find me :-/

Studying. Yay me.

MIL is coming u p on Saturday to celebrate BILs birthday. So probably just hang out with them :)

We arent doing anything, hubby has to work today and tomorrow, my oldest son (he is 27) is moving back home next weekend  and we have to make "room" for him...we have a 4 bedroom house and 3 of the rooms are in use and the other became a "storage" room lol...now I need to clean the storage room and move my home office so that he can actually move back, he has been out of the house since early 2009..so we are working all weekend..the only other thing that we might do is my youngest son is a hugh Fast & Furious fan so we might go out Sunday or Monday and see the movie.....

We are going fishing for the first time since February this weekend. I'm so excited, fresh fish for next week!

This should have been a given. ;)

I agree.
I didn't mean to imply others don't also remember our vets.
I just thought it was good to say. ;)

It certainly was a good thing to say! :) Glad you mentioned it, actually!

I'll be in bed or on the couch all weekend. I'm sick. The weather here isn't going to be nice so I don't mind laying low.

Yep, I think many of us often forget...Memorial day has turned into big retail sales/Nordstrom sale is on now!

I'm going to a ladies get-together and that is all I have planned so far besides sleeping in and being sure to get some exercise in. Also, need to find something for the kids to do...possibly go hiking or something. Trying to keep it low-key as I have A LOT of activities planned in June!

Working, but it's my dad's birthday.

I'm making my delicious ribs and baked mac n cheese. Probably will be some beer involved, too. ;)

Thought we weren't doing anything today but we got invited to DHs cousins BBQ. Good people, good food and good fun :)
Plus I thought this dog was living the good life :D

And I got a "just because" present :)
Although my DH stole my garnet and didn't data word while I was freaking out about it being missing for weeks!
:nono: at least it's set now ;)

Still Rainey and cold here. Boo! Pool was supposed to open!

We had extremely noisy neighbors out camping so decided to come back a day early. (next group trip will be to a much better location!)

It was fun anyway! "A" did just fine once she saw there were 5-6 others her age.

We're heading to the museum today to see the B17 that is in town visiting. Not going to ride in it (given that they charge $450/person  ), but will get to look at the real thing. They also have a guy from the Army giving a presentation, some sort of recognition ceremony, and a band playing patriotic music. Should be lots of fun!
Hopefully will have time to look at all the other space and military aircraft displays too.

Went to our local Memorial Day parade... Cried when they walked by with pictures of all the vets from Michigan who have been killed in the line of duty. There were WAY too many, and they only went back to 2003.
