Memoire owners!! I am scared!

Hello there. I finally bought my Memoire 7 stone single prong band from Pearlmans! It''s absolutely beautiful!

Is there anybody who bought Memoire products from Pearlmans? If so, I have a question.
When I opened the box, I noticed that there was no appraisal.

All paperwork I could find was an invoice.
I still remember that they would send me one. Am I right?

It actually scares me because I have no proof that this ring is actually Memoire except for their invoice saying so.

Did you all get an appraisal with the ring you bought?

Is there anything else I should be getting besides invoice and appraisal?

I left them a message on the phone today (they are close on Saturdays) and I sent an email out to Julian about it.
I am worried to death!

Does the invoice have the details, i.e., carat weight, model number, etc. on it? If so that should suffice in the meantime for insurance purposes.
 
I bought my Memoire from Pearlman''s and if memory serves me correctly, I think I only got an invoice. However, the invoice listed it as a Memoire ring with the specs, etc. I sent that to my insurance company and it was fine. I think as long as it states what it is - rather than just a generic seven stone band you are fine.

At any rate, they will get back to you. Just out of curiosity, I will be interested to see what they have to say. I always thought if I had any problems with the ring, I would send it back through Pearlman''s anyway. So far, not a problem. I just love the ring!

no, no model number, carat weight, nothing except for amount and description saying '' Memoire purity 7 ston ring size 6.25.
I don''t think I can use it for insurance because it has no appraisal value... I hope they will send one to me...

missgotrocks, no specifics at all except for an amount. I wish I got mine like yours so I would not have to worry about it!
Like you said, I am sure they will contact me and hopefully, we can resolve the problem.

You can always temporarily insure things for what you paid as long as you have the receipt. I've done that with settings. It's better than nothing if you have to wait a bit for the appraisal.

ETA: Jeweler's Mutual is the insurance I have- I suppose policies could vary for other companies.

Just as a friendly voice, I would say that you should go to your quiet place and become calm. Stress is bad for you and stress for no good reason is even worse for there is no reason to shorten your life for no reason.

These are respected vendors and they will take care of you when they reopen on Monday. Their receipt saying the ring is a memoire is just as valid as any appraisal that they would write saying it is a memoire. For either of them to be untrue would be fraud.

I too am closed on Saturdays, but I am here writing appraisals as I was too busy to get them all done in time to send with the rings that were finished earlier this week. All the inspections were made and measurements too, but the writing takes time.

You do them a disservice to imply that they are somehow bad people for not including the appraisal before you have given them a chance to take care of it.

Your sales receipt is all you need to insure the ring.

What size stones did you get?
 
I''m sorry to have to say this but I though PS was a place for consumers to ask legitimate questions. Reading the poster''s question, I don''t really see how or when the poster implied that memoire, pearlman or anyone else for that matter did him/her a disservice.

I know the poster does not need an advocate and I apologize for being so blunt but I''m really bothered by some of the comments that were just made.

Regarding your question Ootori, in all likelihood the appraisal is on its way. I know it is stressful to deal with these kind of purchases especially because of the amount of money involved. Don''t worry, I am sure you will hear from the vendor on Monday.
 
I understand your worries. Come Monday, all will be resolved. I am sure the appraisal is on it''s way. Peralman''s is very reputable. I think some of the responses you got here were unfair. PS is a place where you are supposed to come and ask questions. I can''t wait to see your ring!!!! I adore the Memore line, used to sell it back when I worked for a fine jewelry store. They are quality through and through!! Wish I had one!!!

The ring I bought from Pearlmans didn''t come with an appraisal either. I called them and they emailed me one, no problem at all. Please don''t worry or stress out about it. and no, I did not get a second appraisal verifying my ring is what they say it is.
 
I know it''s easier said than done, but try to stop worrying. Call Pearlman''s on Monday and ask for what you need.

I was trying to ask people who have done business with Pearlmans about their experience when they got their rings. Please read some of the responses after your posts.

diamondseeker2006, Hi! my total carat weight is 0.35 (I think). Each of them are tiny but they shine like crazy! The ring looks beautiful with my solitaire setting from WF. I will post some of the picutre sometime soon.

lesco, thank you, thank you, thank you! I thought I did not deserve that kind of response. Pearlman is a great vendor or I would not have done business with them from the first place. Just wanted to let you know your response made me feel better! To me, the amount I paid was big so I wanted things to go smoothly.

kaleigh, thanks for saying that the other response I got was unfair. I agree with you. I guess the way I post my question was taken wrongly by this person. I am not a good writer... Yes, I hope everything will be resolve tomorrow and I know they will contact me anyway. I love my ring! It is not only beautiful but very comfortable to wear!

Sorry if my comments seem harsh to you. As a vendor I protect my reputation as best I can and I did not like it at all on one occassion when I was attacked on a weekend for something that would been taken care of with a simple phone call or email. (On another forum ) I did not see any of the posts until Monday and it has made me VERY sensitive to any comment made about a vendor that could be answered with a phone call or email to that vendor. To me your comment that you have only their invoice for proof that the item is a Memoire is a very strong implication that they might have not done you right.

I was also most serious about recommending calmness, stress is bad for you, especially when you already know that Monday will bring an answer.

Just the way I look at life. I wish you well, sorry you were so afraid.

Wink, thank you for saying sorry. I understand where you are coming from trying to protect businesses include yours but again, I did not have any intention to hurt anybody''s reputation. It''s probably the way I wrote my post...if I could address my question in a better way, you would not even have to get involved with my post from the first place. Sorry for my bad writing and confusion.
I had Saturday and Sunday until Monday to get an answer so instead of worrying two whole days, I thought I could write my question on Pricescope.com where there are many people who have done business with Pearlmans to see how the other customers got their appraisal when they bought products from this company.
If I got the package on weekdays, I would get an answer right away by quick phone call (btw I did, but no one answered, then I realized they were closed on Saturdays) or email. It was unfortunate that it happened on weekend.
That is all.
When I bought my ER from other vendor, I got the ring and the appraisal at the same time so I expected every other vendors were the say way....which I was wrong. So I thank you Wink, for letting me know that every vendors have different ways and policies.

I am not worried so much about this issue anymore because some of the kind people''s responses already helped me with my question.
Therefore, I would like this misunderstanding to be end now.

I will update this post when I find out something...hopefully tomorrow or the day after.

You clarified that you did not mean to impune Pearlman''s. I believe it was the highlighted statements that led some to think you were trying to imply that there was even a possibility that Pearlmans would send you a ring that was not a Memoire.
