Melee size and pricing

Hi everyone
I am having an eternity ring made and the jeweller quoted me $1500 for 11 stones 4pointers each or about $1000 for 11 stones 3 pointers each. Does this sound right? I am located in Australia. Quality F/G colour and Si1 clarity. What do u think?

There are different cut qualities of melee, just as their are different cut qualities for larger diamonds and the difference in cut quality does affect price. Thus in order to make an accurate comparison, talk to your jeweler about the cut quality of the diamonds he is offering you...

yesyesyesyesyes.

I have two eternity bands, one with commercial grade melee and one with high quality "ideal" melee. Although the difference is not huge, the higher quality melee definitely is whiter, brighter, and more sparkly accross lighting conditions.
