Melee / Shank / Halo - definitions

Could someone tell me what the definitions are of Melee, shank and halo on a ring? (Trying to confirm diamond sizes on my HW inspired cushion cut and want to make sure I''m ''talking'' the right language!!
Is the shank the ring band? and the Halo is the stones around the centre stone - so what is the mellee refferring to??

the shank is the band, the halo is the tiny diamonds around the center stone and the melee are the tiny diamonds that are used in the band and halo.
