I love my J. The ONLY thing I don't like about my J is that the round melee I see in settings is always too white, even when it is listed as I/J. So, I've found a source for melee that is K/L/M range but while the cut will be good, it won't be of the H&A quality I can get elsewhere... I *really* want my melee stones to match my stone and the unplated white gold (i'm going for a antique ivory monotone sort of look) but I'd like to know how much twinkle I'm really sacrificing going from H&A melee to "good" melee... and this is in the like 1-2 point range.

ETA: I wanted to add that H/I/J melee look fine with ROUND J stones... because they face up so white and they're so small! My stone shows every bit of color. What you see in rounds from the sides I see from the top - and I do like it like that, I think it's delicate and lovely, I just want to match that color. I think J baguettes would probably be fine but for the rounds I want to drop... not sure how far though... ideas?

most likely minimal sacrifice in that melee size range.

i have a crappily cut 10 stone 1ctw ring from ebay and it sparkles just as nicely as my H&A's in certain lighting. not all lighting of course but in bling bling lights when my rings are going to town, so is the ebay 10 stone. and those are 10 pointers that are somewhat heavily included. in other lights they still sparkle but they look a little more dull.

when you are talking 1 or 2 pointers, they are so absolutely tiny. as long as they have facets and are not heavily included, they will return sparkle especially when set against other melee. if you are going for an old fashioned kind of look with your cushion and setting then the good melee would be fine.

Thanks, that helps :) I don''t want to overshadow the stone with super white super blingy little rounds LOL are you comparing your 10 pointer ebay stones vs your 2&3 pointer H&A stones? And you''re saying usually the little H&A ones are better? wow!
